Death of a Patty Wagstaff (RC plane crash)

Was that a Kokam pack I see flying from the fuse?

NO, I have 2 JR 6V NiCD 1500 mah packs with
2 HD JR switches.Smoke system uses a 4.8 600 mah NiCD flat pack.

If I had used Lipos there probably would have been a fire after impact.
That is why I did not use them.

hey JIA or p47tbolt,how do the smoke systems work? do they just bring in the air and let the air out or a pipe? from the exhaust? I've even see 3d foamies with a smoke system. Thanks

Smoke systems on a gas/nitro plane have a 2nd tank with smoke oil in it,
you can use pressure from the exhaust to pump it or in my plane I have(HAD)an electric TME smoke pump.It is pumped through tubing up to the exhausts muffler that has a fitting to let the smoke oil enter inside the muffler where it will vaporize from the heat into smoke. That is why gas engines usaully have better smoke than nitro engines.More heat.
If you have seen 3d foamies with smoke,it is from either a device that will smoke like a "cherry bomb" or he has fried something in his electronics.

P47TBolt, You're the only guy I know that drives his plane into the ground as hard as he drives his truck on the water. Roy, seems bad luck is following you around, not too long ago didn't I see a pic of your 1-1 truck getting pulled out of the mud.   When I saw the other video of the plane in the pine tree, at first I thought it was your plane. I was LMAO THAT WAS FUNNY SHAT!!!! Sorry bout the plane know you can fix it. See you in June. I'll help cook this time!!!

Rebuild has begun.Using broken sheeting and stringers to realign fuselage.
Glueing together at ply formers, then will remove broken sheeting and stringers. New stringers and sheeting then will be installed.

Shots of the plane in the air prior to the crash.

Was overcast and I was using a 75-300mm lens so pics are grainy.

those large birds have pretty decent glide caracteristics (spelling? :D )
what did he do? looks like he panics and gave way too much aleron for those speeds.

then i dont understand what made her go knife edge?
ive brougnt in my fair share of Extras and a yak dead stick a decade ago.
i dont plank fly anymore, im just curious as to what went wrong? it looked like she was coming in nice and flat. at what alt did he loose the motor? did he bleed off too much air speed? and she just fall out of the sky? that might explain the lack of aileron input.

not trying to be rude or point fingers, hope it doesnt come off that way. just curious what went wrong.
