Destroyer's Nilgai

So are the upper link mounts the Hulk ones or not ?
The first time I saw them I thought they were custom built. Where can I fìnd them ? Is there a chance Towers has them ?

Thanks
Filippo

Yes, they are.;-)

You could try PMing HULK to see if he could make you a set, or you could probably make your own fairly easily if you know how to weld or braze. Tower would not have them."thumbsup"

Couple pics from the other day. Sorry about the quality...camera phone.

Thanks SVEN! I would like to say it's done, but I'm pretty sure we all know there is no such state as "done" on a crawler. Next up is hopefully an R2D, new batteries, and CVD's.

Small steps DJ, small steps....can't go hunting for first when the batteries dump before the 2nd gate.:x:lol:

Update 12/2

The blue bull has gotten some serious updates thanks to Holmes Hobbies and RC4WD.

I ended up having to move the rear upper links to the outside of the chassis plates to clear the motor, so I spaced out the axle end mount as well to keep the geometry the same.

It's a tight fit, but it's in.

I am having some problems with the R2 though...it moves between lock and freewheel ok, but binds badly when trying to re-engage 4wd (enough to lock the rear tires). Not sure what the deal is there, since my linkage setup is perfectly flat. I am using a HS-125 servo, with or w/o a servo saver and it still binds. No pics of the servo setup, sorry. It is almost like the output hole on the trans is a hair off compared to the hole the slider deal moves through, since it is very hard to reengage by hand outside of the truck.

I will say that the Cobalt Puller is pretty sick. I am running a 15t pinion, but bump it up a tooth or two since there is still no lack of torque.

I also swapped from the gold Duratrax shocks to some HPI's that are slightly longer that allows for a little bit of droop.

Two more pics from a GTG yesterday:
