I am new to the summit arena. This is my first one and like it so far but I have some questions. Currently the rig has twin titan motors that work good. I really dont like not having a lipo cutoff so i was thinking of changing the esc to a sidewinder that i already have. Then i was thinking of swapping in the dewalt motor and going to 4s. This would eliminate my lipo problem. Of course I also plan on installing a bec for the servo duties. Will the sidewinder handle the big motor on 4s? Does this even seem worth doing?

I think that motor will pull too many amps and thermo the Sidewinder.

the sidewinder tops off at 3s, The summit is fairly heavy and I think 3s is kinda low, unless you are doing pure slow crawling.

As stated earlier, the sidewinder tops at 3s. Imo go with a mamba monster esc. Have you looked at the kits on the kershawdesigns.com site? Good stuff, decent prices"thumbsup".

Hope this helps. Good luck

I have run every sidewinder i have ever had on 4s without any issues. The cutoff seems to work good. That was what i was thinking. I guess the summit might get something else.

Running an old Mamba Max on 3S in my E-maxx with an XL BL 2450 motor, and it barely gets warm. Wish I had bought more of these back in the day, these ESC's are super tough. Don't know how the sidewinder stacks up, though castle generally underrates their stuff.
