i just picked it up today at target here in las vegas. i immediately removed all the junk off of the body and scrapped it, which just thrilled my wife. the detail in these things is awesome and i relly like the size of the body.

im building it on a Reign K2-4 chassis, ill probably use an R2 transmission to keep from having to cut out the floor and seats to clear an axial transmission. anyway, all i have planned so far is that it'll be on TLT axles with black pro-line beadlocks probably flatirons or losi claws.

heres a couple pics of what ive got so far, its not much but its a start.

Sweet...I had my sis pick me up the same exact jeep

I used velcro to temporarily attach mine to the chassis.

It looks very realistic but i had a lot of tire rubbing even with the body being up high.

The tires rubbed to the point that they would pinch body on inside and nearly pull it off...the shredding sound of velcro....argh!!!

I guess the original chassis articulates a lot. Was thinking of switching to TCS scale chassis to limit that or just limiting shock travel.

not sure yet...

Good luck on the truck!!!"thumbsup"

i dunno yet steve, we'll see. haha! ive already started mocking up my suspension, but im gonna pull the K2-4 apart and narrow the cross members and skid plate by about 9/16" to allow the links to be setup the way i want them to. ill try to get that done tomorrow so i can get to work on this thing. that and sell a few things to get parts for this.

It's great to see that you didn't waste anytime building this chassis.
I have one coming. I just don't have a build in mind yet.:x There seems
to be alot of Jeep JK's being built lately. Maybe I'll have to try something
else.:?: Subscribed!!

thanks guys, today i took the chassis to work and narrowed it by 5/8", now the link setup will be next then shock towers and shocks after that. then soon after ill figure out body mounting. gotta get the suspension set first to get a ride height estimate. hopefully ill have more pics up later.

as promised, progress.

i got the links done tonight, traxxas 5318 lowers and traxxas something else for the uppers. threw some old moabs on narrowed pede wheels on there to get a size reference. i think might try to get a slightly shorter tire for it, not really sure what to do about that though. a set of losi tires might work theyre kinda short.

Looking good diesel. These things are a lot of fun.

Know what you mean. My mud slingers are just a little to tall, but they look so good on it. Had to cut the front bumper ends off cause the tires kept rubbing.

i got the shocks and towers done tonight, its running 3racing mini LST shock in the rear with 80wt in them and 4" maxx shocks on the front with MFM racing shock towers on the chassis to inboard the maxx shocks like i did on my k2-5. the ride height is pretty tall, not sure how it'll work but its coming along.
