After a few months reading this thread on a daily basis and watching vids on the tube, I finally made a step ahead and bought a berg from a member here and I'm trying now to put it the way I want it.

I want to get things right : I'm rebuilding it with what my money can afford now and pretty open to advices but be kind : it's my first MOA crawler...

At the origin, it was a T1E rockshow and though I've seen how capable that chassis was, I already had plans for a spare part I owned :

I have a question : what's the best lenght (comp spec.) for the upper links ? I noticed that longer ones on rear side gives you some clocking of the axle... ;-)
That chassis comes with delrin T1E lower links giving some unity to the build of my spider :ror:

I had to grease again the axles and I used that opportunity to know better the inside of the monster. I love that raw aspect !!!
rear axle :

The whole machine came with duratrax shocks (3.5") loaded with losi springs, gray and gold... It appeared that these shocks were too short for the YTC chassis and I rapidly ordered Axial XR10 ones...

Front axle :

The front axle came with a delrin OTA steering, high clearance VP knuckles and D-Lux knuckles weights "thumbsup" I swapped the servo for the one I had in my MRC Pro. looking good so far...

I should feed the axles with some nice new matched 55t handwound JP Warriors motors. Front should be mounted on 14t, rear on 13t to get some wheelspeed...

For the moment, I'll stick with the wheels I got buying it... I may paint them or give them some shine !

DNA stuff (to be changed...)

and Rovers !!!

I may swap for some Losi Boss Claws in the future...

To drive this rig, I wanted to spend the less money possible and found out it could be driven with a dual stick transmitter. I'll have a look on the thread showing you how to setup this :

a DX6 i had laying around with its cute tiny receiver...

I also have the body panels to cut and paint, haven't decided what color I want to go with but noticed on a few pics I got here and there that the prettiest rigs were those with the simplest color scheme or deco (thinking about a bright pastel orange ) that could go with some orange beadlocks !!!

I'm missing something ? No, I have it : the esc !!!! 2 micro mamba pro with CCBEC that were working with a "Losikid" modded transmitter and receiver. On how to connect all this, I may need your help guys. It's already done but wished it was cleaner.

to be continued...

Looks like a great start!

Looks like you got a good start there. You might try to get that jeep86 mod going on in the front to tuck that servo behind the axle. The orange will look good with the black!"thumbsup"

Good start I was in the same boat as you reading everyday tryin to figure out how to set my berg up but through lots of build threads, lots of questions and stalking the for sale section I have my berg almost exactly how I want I want it so I wish you luck in finding exactly how you want to set your berg up and of you run into any bumps along the way send someone with a similar setup as you a pm they'll help you out this is a great forum with many people eager to help so good luck and can't wait to see this build progress
Hope this helps "thumbsup"
Bobby

Some update on the berg...

Hi everybody !

I had some spare time and tried to put things together... I received my shocks and after some work got them to properly fit the BJV4 chassis.

photo16.jpg

I replaced the springs with Losi gray and gold (painted black) to have the rig smooth !

Then I mounted the chassis on the axles to watch stance : not bad I think even though the front gearbox looks not entirely covered by the front lower links...

the whole thing :

and to end the thing, I painted my wheels black, not bad for a beginning I think...

I wanted to go with dual mamba micro pro + CCBEC but feeling the will to try something else, maybe a BRXL TorqueMaster with a punk dig. The thing with such an electronic setup is that i can't really use my DX6 anymore (any idea, advice welcomed) or is it still possible ? If not, what option do I have on radios ?

That BRXL/Punk combo will work just fine with your DX6. However, the dual MMP will give you much more control over the vehicle with your twin stick radio..."thumbsup"

A lil' update...

Hi guys !

I had some spare time this afternoon and couldn't resist !!! I mounted my beadlocks wheels on the Rovers and TADAAAAAA !!!
She is a roller now !!!:flipoff:

I'm getting proud of my beast. A 2.2 rig is really a huge car, not a Baja but quite enormous. I'm beginning to feel her weight and thanks God, a few parts are delrin made "thumbsup". No mandatory flexing shot for the moment but still ...

Things are taking form. Thanks for your input Jeremy, your rigs are also an inspirational source to me. The building should slow down though because vacation is over  but stay tuned, she should be alive one day !!! hehe

Hi guys !

Have a question, maybe someone can bring me some light !

Can BWD delrin bent upper links work with a berg axles and a BJV4 chassis ? Has anyone tried that or thinks it could work ?

I finally ordered a BR-XL...:ror: and 4PL soon.
