DIY Slipper Pads

Since nobody has slipper pads in stock (Original Flavor or the Aluminum ones), I've tried making my own from some sandpaper. It's not quite thick enough and I cant get much grip from it. Has anyone had any luck cutting down some fender washers or some sort of fabric to make slipper material?

I wonder, could the Team Associated 91170 Slipper Pads be trimmed to fit?

If not, I would try some automotive composite gasket material held in place with Scotch Permanent Double Sided Tape 665-C.

Tried the TA pads. The inside diameter was a bit small, so I trimmed that out. And the OD was a bit small, but it fit into the spot on the spur gear fine.

It'll do until Axial parts are in stock again.
