Dlux presents the Red Rock Rumble 11/6/15 - 11/8/15

Are the dates of 11/6-11/8 still the plan?

Yep

I can get shirt done locally if you want Erik - Everyone loves T-shirts.

Looks like we have some interest, enough for me to do the comp. IMO, its getting tricky on some things like trophies and t shirts. If there are 10 of us, is it worth it? I think trophies are important and would like to do them but....

As for lunch, its best if I can do a free comp and then just grab money at the comp. If I do it that way, this is a non profit comp and I can avoid jumping though a bunch of other hoops that you need to do when having something that is "organized". Also, no real reason to let Paypal take 3% of our lunch money.

That's why I was offering todo the shirts - I can have them done locally even if only 2 of us want them. Price is the same no matter what and I'm not making any money on it.

If we all chip in for the "extras" then it's not "organized" right? Just grown men playing with toy truck.

Yep, no fees and then its just some friends having a get together.

Do you have somebody that can do art work on the shirts too?

Yeppers - me or the tshirt guy. Do you have any ideas or suggestions and I'll put something together and get prices and see where we land.

After mentioning it to the wife, yeah I think I jumped the gun a little. I'm getting a little push back. Being that it would be my 3rd event this year..... we'll see. I'll be pushing for sure. hehehehe

Just remind her that she can be replaced... :lmao:

I am also in for donating for shirts, trophies, goody bags, food, whatever...

Looks like a good size town maybe some good food. Where has dlux been. :ror:

I live 10 minutes from 3 peaks. Its better than st george iMO.
Theres Area 51 and dixie rock down in St george that are ok. Area 51 is a little offroad for some people and to me its nowhere near as good as 3 peaks.
But ive been exploring 3 peaks for 2 years and know some amazing places out there.
Im in for 3 peaks.

If I look at the BLM map, it only shows a very small portion of that rock being private. Is there only one viable spot to crawl?

Not charging would not be a big deal at all. Really, all I usually try to cover is the cost of the trophies and lunch or whatever. Lunch does not need to happen and trophies can be worked around.

I have not. I dont know much about the area.

Have you been there? A quick google search shows a lot of dirt but some rock?

Really, we need a place where we can park and have rock close by. If these seem like they fit the bill, let me know. I will probably make a trip down before too long to scout some more areas. As I said before, it just makes it really, really hard to look for spots when youre on limited time. I didnt get to see much last time I was down there and I still spent hours in the car.
Gooseberry would be awesome but it is a little hard to get to the rocky area with a car. Long dirt road to even get there. And if it rains it would be easy to get stuck out there.

This may be doable depending on funds, i'll be coming up from new mexico

You should try and motivate those other NM guys!

Any hotel info.

I think its been about 3yrs since I last stayed there for a comp but I remember really liking my hotel, not too often I really like a hotel so it should say something?

I need to explore more for good food. Hit a sushi place up and it was pretty good, nothing to write home about. I think the only other place I went to was Applebees.

Been sick in bed, sorry for the lack of updates.
