first off let me thank Don and Solomon over at DNA for their support. "thumbsup"

now with me at a stopping point with solomon's build and all the tweaks i can do to my mrc i decided to bring out all the parts i have been collecting for my '09berg build.

some specs:

2.2 mantis chassis - dna
2.2 berg snipers - dna
berg axles - tcs
fubar lockouts - mthead
hitec hs58955tg - rchq
ott steering - 86jeep
sidewinder / cc bec - rchq
45t handwounds - holmes hobbies
spektrum dx3r / sr3100
hitec hs55 - rchq
manly dig switches - holmes hobbies
losi .6 shocks droop front / torsion rear

*all comments, questions, and critcisms welcome*

this build will go on in between solomon's build and my mini ss build so it will be a slow one.

did you replace all the bearings? the ones in my bergs don't have the blue rubber shields on them. and they're the only thing on my bergs that have failed so far.

no those are the bearings they came with form tcs.

Where are you going to mount your front lower links/shocks?

the button head screws you see are only there for mockup of the servo upright.

this is how they will be mounted.

It's been 10 days since my last update... Changes have been made. I paid a visit with the DNA crew and just happend to bring something home with me.

DNA's new Mantis Chassis.....

I started this build using a droop set up with .06 losi shocks.

Keep in mind that this chassis was designed for a torsion/droop suspension and with different shocks you can go suspended up in front. Also when i brought home the chassis all i had were the side plates and skid. Full production and sales will be coming soon.

shows very promising on how stable this chassis will be. this was taking before all electronics were added.

Dude you fawkin suck :flipoff: That chassis and steering setup is super nice. DNA did a great job with the chassis. I like that instead of a flat plain cut, they added the beveled edges. Adds a little bling factor to it ;-) Great Job DNA "thumbsup"

i would say the biggest problem with the build i ran into was making everything fit, but i managed. everything is there.. :-P sidewinder, ccbec, dig switches, dig servo, sr3100 receiver, and a 3c lipo pack.

to finish her off i went with DNA's snipers. (dont pay attention to the thrasher grappler body after all tweaks and changes are made during testing a new body will top her. ;-))

as it sits right now this is what you can expect as far as articulation.

as the chassis "breaks in" the "flex" should increase. i have a comp tomorrow that i will enter this rig in. i'll post up here how i do. don't expect much since i haven't driven it outside and it's my first time driving a berg type crawler. :ror:

the chassis looks even better in person.. :-P
yes the attention to the little things like that is a very nice touch. "thumbsup"

That Chassis looks great! My son (Grover) up in Wa. test run Jasons.
He also ran it in a Comp up there. He said it's a very nice working Chassis.

Betcha $5 H3RESQ(Jason) will suggest standing up the front shocks more:-P"thumbsup"
Nice looking build8)

Looks good, i cant wait to get mine. Let us know how it does. I was under the impression that the front axle was tucked in closer to the skid but maybe its just the camera angle. "thumbsup"
