Can I have your copy of SolidEdge then?

Use the tutorials, SolidEdge has some of the best out there.

As far a big CAD packages, I would say learn what you have, then all of them will be easy for you. I was taught SolidEdge in school, and due to school and jobs, taught myself SolidWorks and ProE. They all use the same basic principles.

But if you are wanting something simpler, someone will chime in on some of the freeware out there.

I have Instant Deck Design/turboCAD (I think it's turboCAD) I got it from Office Max for $20. It is simple, fast, and deceivingly easy to use. I know it's not some High-$ CAD program, but it gets it done for me. I even designed a revolver like the Samaritan, and a few real-world powertools with the Instant Deck Design.
