wtf is a bananna spider ?

A big a$$ yellow and black spider!! They are poisonous and do bite with very little provoking, they can get up to about 5" in diameter and alot of that is their legs.

I accidently rode right through one of those huge webs by mistake. The spider was sitting just to the left of where I rode through, right at eye level.

EDIT: Those are the ones jason!!

We dont ruin trails. Its the Quads. Ever seen a just orv park? they are in better condition than you can image.

woah woah woah, now your dissing the quads? Seriously people, its not only one group of people, its all of the idiots from each sport put together, seriously the only off road vehicle that i can safly say does the lease amount of damage is a snowmobile

so stop blaming it on one group of off road vehicles, and get out there and do something about it

quads dont ruin anything that bikes dont, idiots on any ride will ruin things. I've ridden a number of trails with nothing but bike damage.

Bikes don't ruin trails.
Quads don't ruin trails.
4x4's don't ruin trails.
Heck for that matter guns don't kill people.

Its the irresponsible idiots that either are not properly "trained", the ignorant people who don't care, and or the careless that don't pay attention (among others I'm sure) that ruin it for the rest of us.

The Pacific Northwest Fourwheel Drive Assoc. fights to keep trails open, and whether or not a trail or area is used by everyone or not, if it is closed for some reason or another, IT IS CLOSED! Whether it is only a $100 fine, or a $10,000 fine, its still trespassing, It still makes the rest of us who do obey the laws suffer the consequences of YOUR actions. Why do you think those areas are closed? Just to spite you?

There has been a few people creating new trails at TSF in the PAC/NW, other see them and try them too, pretty soon they are torn up badly and starting to erode when the rain hits which in turn kills trees, plants, etc. So, rather than let these actions go on unchecked, the rangers close a trail or area, then what? We lost yet another area to wheel thanks to people like yourself that think they have the right to do as they please where ever, whenever, and however they please.

Think before you act.

This is why we lose our trails right here, everybody pointing the finger at everyone else instead of banning together to save trails. I'm not going to act like I'm the most involved in the fight either, but I'll tell someone if they're F'in up!! The tree huggers (no offense to anyone) are united in the one cause of keeping ALL trail users off the trails, that's why they succeed. I do a little of everything from dirt bikes, 4-wheel (ATV and Jeep), hike, mountain bike, snowmobile............bottom line is ignorant users ruin it for everyone.........PERIOD!!

A side note about Banana Spiders:

The term "Banana Spider" is actually used for two very different species of spiders. The big yellow and black spiders found in North America, are argiope spiders. These spiders, commonly known as "Garden Spiders", are relatively harmless. A bite from one would only prove serious if you had a severe allergic reaction. They are sometimes called "Banana Spiders" due to their large size and yellow coloration. The Central/South American phoneutria however, carry a neurotoxin similar to that of the Black Widow Spider, and a bite can prove fatal. These spiders look nothing like the North American Banana Spider - the phoneutria spiders get thier name from thier habit of appearing in banana harvests. I have seen a Garden Spider before, once when I was very young. It was in our kitchen, and it remains to be the largest spider I have ever seen in person, outside of a pet shop or zoo. My Grandfather once encountered an actual South American phoneutria spider in a bushell of bananas many years ago. I wasn't there, but from what I am told, it was very large and aggressive.

I agree with that.
