on my sons artr the drive shafts keep coming off the output shaft of the trans. its like the set screws arent strong enough to hold it on. is there something i can do to keep this from happening or would new driveshafts help?

buy some of these and never look back. They are cheap, they are a perfect fit and I've been running the same set on my comp rig since I put them on back in June

not one shaft failure yet.

if i run those then i still have the problem i have now. its not the shaft coming apart. its where it slide on to the output shaft of the tranny. it keeps sliding off there. nothing breaks i just have to slide it back on. it just gets annoying after the 10th or so time

well then that is your YOKE popping off not your driveshaft.

All you need is some thread-lock... the blue formula"thumbsup" Put a drop on the set screw, then screw it in.

If it has the metal yoke, then use locktite on the set screw. If it has a plastic yoke, change it out to a metal one ( and locktite the set screw)

make sure the shaft on the axle itself is set right .i had this problem with my sons kit and when you put the yolk on and tightened it down it was on half the shaft.take a pair of pliers and a rag and pull on the shaft to seee if it will come out somemore.then see if it can tightened down with locktight.hopefully this helps

I run 2 set screw's on each yolk. I put a small dimple on the non flat spot side with a drill bit. Put a small drop of loc-tite on each set screw. Check them often.

Well by the time you get them to stay on. You'll just pop the joints on them. MIP and Lock-tite is the only way. I was having the same issues with my sons rig. Not anymore.

I also had this problem. I took a punch and marked the spot where the set screws hit the flat spots on the output shafts then took a small drill bit and made a dimple for the set screw to sit in. Did that on both sides of the tranny then lock tighted them and never had this problem again.

sorry for not reading the 1st post correctly! I was in a bit of a rush yesterday when i read it. good luck

i have done both of these, the stock shafts have been known to pop off the yokes, and doubling up on the setscrews with locktite. your good to go.

MIP shafts have a good reputation"thumbsup"
but my setup is running fine, so i dont think that it's a must have item.
