Enduro brushed motor help

Hi guys,

I have an Element Enduro with the kit 87T Spur and ran an 18T pinion with a HH 550 12-Turn Crawlmaster Sport on 3s and it's a bit slow for my liking. HH website says it's around 1700kv.

I had a smaller AE Spur that is 72T with a 27T pinion and it's a bit more perky but I don't want to burn up this motor with silly gearing.

What would be a nice budget friendly motor that's a bit faster so that I can run the normal 87T Spur and a 16-20T pinion?

Holmes motor recommendations are for the stock gearing unless otherwise stated. By putting a bigger pinion and smaller spur you would nullify that recommendation.
Your gears are pretty fast for crawling. Go brushless 2700kv-3500kv then lower the gearing again.
High gears like that will increase the temps in your motors.

If you want to stay brushed get a 2200kv crawlmaster pro 550 10t or 21t 550 torquemaster pro and run them on 4s and reduce your gear ratio again. if you don't crawl at all the maybe stay on 3s and leave the gearing.
Just remember to watch the temps for the first day so you don't burn anything up. It doesn't happen immediately. but first check it after 30 seconds, then a minute, then 2, 4, 8 ,16min...etc...

Sorry I didn't read the budget part, Trailmaster sport 550 21t , crawlmaster sport 10t or 8t.
There is no hard limit for what motor or gears to run, you just try it, if it gets hot then you need back off somewhere.
The recommendations rarely talk about gearing, voltage, tire diameter, weight, or driving style, and never address all of them. But all of those things play a big factor in what motor to get.
But realize faster motors are less tolerant of taller gearing like you have. so watch the temps.
