Experts on Brushed motors?

Has anyone tried the Ansmann racing 50/55T brushed motors??? They are rebuildable but there is not more info but the watts and rpm/v.

I would know the comm. diameter because I'm looking for best slow reponse and drag brake and it semms, from what I've read, the more diameter size comm. the more drag and low end control. ¿I'm ok?

The comm diameter is 7.5mm, and they are single winds not double winds. Not a bad motor for the price. With some work they can be made better. But not as good as a Tekin hand wound, Brood or Holmes hobbies.

That is the cheaper integy lathe motor with a different sticker on it.....

Comm diameter doesn't really do much for lowspeed from any of my testing....most people cannot even tell the difference.

It only appears to have better drag brake because the increased comm size makes the springs even stiffer, as they don't need to push the brush in as far.

Don't expect the world from them, as like I said....that's the cheaper integy motors...decent for what they do, but a big difference from a handwound or even the better quality machine wounds out there. I would check the integy price, as those should not be any more really.......looks like they are just putting their sticker on it.

Quality is decent for a budget motor. Nowhere near Sagami quality, but at 15 euro it is a decent buy for a beater. I've gotten a hold of some, and they certainly don't come from integy "thumbsup" Is integy buying them too? Quite possible, although I haven't seen one from them yet.


I think the larger comm sizes increase drag because of the higher comm face speed too. 1/3 faster against the brush, 1/3 more friction.

Integy has had them for a while now. I picked up a few from them....their better teardown is from sagami....these, someone in china...from my understanding, they were made intially for integy, but I doubt that stopped the company from selling them to others....they are decent motors. I like the green heatsinks and they have nice endbell hardware.

The name of the company is stamped right on the endbell...

Over the years I have received three different kinds of Integy motors. The best one was a Sagami. The worst just said "china" on the endbell. They all cost about $20 each. Certainly not powerhouses, but if geared low enough they are fairly reliable.

I run in them my submersible SCX, saving the good Holmes motors for the AX-10.

I really miss the Kyosho big commed, big brushed motors. Bang for the buck they were hard to beat.

Better, by broken in, aligned hoods (maybe), and dyno'd for some of them. Same cheap epic base. Kinda like taking a turd and polishing it.

My guess is that it's a "50T double wind" or "50 turn double wind".

The "turns" (or "T") are how many times they wrap a strand around one comm/armature segment, more turns is less motor speed but more torque.

The "double wind" means they wrap 2 parallel wires at the same time around the armature segment.
