Fake FBI virus....WTF

Anyone know anything about this bullshit RansomWare virus. It just locked up my computer and is missing me off...... Please help. Im now stuck to my phone for help.

One option is to use a restore point from a few days ago if you're on a Windows PC.
Then worry about a virus scan.8)

Lol..... Actually if I was looking at porn then I would have believed the scam. It popped up and said my computer is locked due to illegally downloading or using music, movies, or files. I'm currently running again after system restore to 9-23-12. Hope it all works after my full scan with two different programs (Norton, and Malwarebytes) really hope it works.

i had something ping off wine a couple days ago. was just surfing as usual (rcc, porn, cheezbruger) and i get a prompt that some .exe wanted permission to open. can't remember the filename on it, but was pretty harmless to me :lmao:

How do you like the Note?? I am in the market for a new phone and the note looks like it should be an awesome device. Did you root/flash it or are you using it bone stock?

Also how is the handwriting recognition?

Lol, yeah right on topic.....

I actually switched over from an iPhone and now that I'm used to it I love it. Takes great pics, shoots HD video and has an enormous screen. Seriously it's a great phone, little tough to get comfortable with but the handwriting recognition and voice recognition is very good. I'm using a bone stock one right now but will be rooting it shortly. I love the talkatap app on it, makes adding pics and stuff easy as hell.

There isn't a part of every part of the classifieds that doesn't run across my screen at least once if not several times including every image and I have not yet (knock on wood) received any issues or alerts.

Not saying it is impossible that you got a virus from there because I surely am not a computer whiz..... But just figure if there is any virus to be gotten, I surely would have had it before anyone :-/

There was a google add that has a virus on here a little while back. It got me. And I have never got any virus from any porn site I have ever looked at. And I look at them all.

+1.... A few months ago I was getting all sorts of alerts from Kaspersky when various banners popped up on pages here.

I had to stop looking at this forum at work since my IT guys got an email everytime an alert pops up.:roll:

I don't remember if I got a virus, I'm pretty careful with emails & links.

As to the "FBI" virus, I was just trying to help out the OP with a resolution since a PC screen can be better than a phone.

BTW, I didn't get those same alerts from other forums, it was specific to here.

Install and use Google Chrome...even during the GoogleAd virus issues I was never attacked because it was hitting exploits in IE and Firefox.
