Rig looks pretty fluent, consistent, and stable.

That comp spot looks beautiful.

I would love to see that place in person.

At yesterday's training, the Smash has worked quite well.

But a weakness are the montages of the shock absorber to the chassis.
Due to the rather long screws and the "outs overpacing" the shock absorber, it bend after a few crashes regularly the screws.

After a couple of bad driving maneuvers, it has also given once funny noises from the rear transmission.

To fix the problem with bent screws, I have the "doubler" mounted.

I have also rebuilt the chassis.
All the spacer was changed in the chassis.

Yesterday, the new skins by Michelle are also yet arrived.
So of course they had to be built the same.

Well, my chassis on the front of the cap required width of 3 ".

In the Comp in Spain I noticed. that the crawler is just spring loaded too soft.

I have put the shocks to a hole steeper.
Thus, the vehicle height does not change, I had to adjust the limitation in the shocks.

Old Setup:
Shocks front: Limited 6mm inside, outside 6mm
Shocks Rear: limited 4mm inside, outside 8mm

New setup:
Shocks front: Limited inside 10mm, outside 2mm
Shocks Rear: limited inside 10mm, outside 2mm

Today I have assembled my new YTC wheels.

And I also have installed another weight system.
The brackets are from YTC and you can install 5 Tungsten weights per side.

Last Sunday the 2.Comp in Italy was of the westalpscrawlers.

Still going with the same setup as on the 1.comp in italy.

The crawler seems to be perfectly matched for my driving style.
Accordingly, my placement was also turned out very well.

Thomas you are right, your rig seems to work perfectly! and what to say about the drive? look you and racer in action is every time fantastic!

my compliments again! "thumbsup"

Great looking setup! I am in the middle of a smash build myself and am referring to this thread for tips/advice :)

I do have a question for you. I am wondering what length shocks you have? I have 3.5" Traxxas Big Bore and have moved my shock mounts in even further than yours and my rig sits at 3.5" high with no electronics in it.

Here is my build:

I have installed SCX10 shocks.

The shocks are limited:

Shocks front: Limited inside 10mm, outside 2mm
Shocks Rear: limited inside 10mm, outside 2mm

farmertom hello, I have your same chassis and reflected the same problem ... since I also participate in the contest to grimsell (with lizard and the other boys of the west alps crawler) I was wondering if you could get me your edit to the front shock absorbers hello ... and thank you.
