For my car I have a VCDS HexNet-V2 USB to OBD device. Software runs in windows and I have yet to configure the COM port in wine which may or may not work.

I have Win 11 running in Virtual Machine Manager with VCDS installed. I cannot for the life of me get the USB to redirect. I have used this setup for some time now and suddenly it does not work. the device properly shows up when running lsusb. My user is in the libvirt group.

I have even purged VMM and the windows install in the virtual machine, reinstalled VMM and win 11 in the VM with the same results.

When I redirect the USB as soon as I click on the device the VM locks up, a few seconds later asks me if I want to wait or quit the program. No matter what I do the VM will eventually crash without redirecting the USB device.

Any ideas?
