Finally went through with it

Ok, this thing has been sitting on the backburner for way too long (lots of other things going on)
I picked up where I left it a couple of weeks ago and I thought I'd show you guys the progress I've made so far:

yes there are , many. including a shafty class [ scx1o styled trucks].

Next step. Everything fixed in place, wheels and tires are on. Not too sure about the front axle though, bit wider than expected. Maybe I'll design a new one. Good thing about that would be that I can incorporate the servo mount (which I forgot to do with this one)

That looks awesome...did you machine out the spider gears and everything in the rear diff or do you snag them from something else?

The gears were bought and modified, everything else is scratch-built.

But I'm not using the diff anymore. Just a straight axle now.

Small update:
- made some fuel tanks (still have to think of a way to mount them)
- fitted smaller sparkplugs (I had to, because with the original sparkplugs the engine was too wide to be legal in the class)
- started shaving off some material to save weight. Removed some material in the rear axle (gears), from the engine (shaved down cooling fins) and cut the tires. Total savings up 'till now: approximately 10.5 ounces.

I finished the fenders for the rear wheels. In the picture you can also see the cut tires and milled down cooling fins.
