Financial Crisis Timeline / When will it all end?

Live your life like your Grandparents did, pay cash!

If you can't afford it, you don't need it.

That's the way I go about things. I have one card with the word "Visa" on it....and it's my bank debit card. If I don't have it in the bank...it doesn't get bought. "thumbsup"

It does make it a bit more interesting when trying to rent a car....but if all I need to worry about is that vs. a wallet full of credit...I'll take the small bit of headache when I rent a car. ;-)

Other than my home loan, I have zero debt. Paid off school loans...

That is what American's need to shoot for.

Same boat here...just have the mortgage and my car loan to worry about.

How else would I be able to afford all this RC crap I have piled up behind me....... :)

Same here, no credit cards. And yeah, car rentals are a bitch. My only outstanding debt is my truck payment.

The lenders and the lendee's are to blame, as well as the gov't for pretending to care and, among other things, allowing jobs to be shipped overseas. Its all about making money and living the American Dream. Mostly about making money.

IMO this is going to get much worse before it gets better. The gov't can't pull its collective head out of its ass long enough to swallow its pride and do what it takes to get us back on track. This is not the time for special interest bullshit. There are some that will blame our current president, and you can blame Obama all you want, but this problem was here long before he was.

Its either going to be a long, slow, hard crawl back to a better economy, or the whole world is going to tank and someone is going to have to push the reset button.

The economy needs people spending money in order to grow. Nowadays everyone's scared shitless about whether they'll have a job tomorrow, so they're saving instead. Good for the individual, bad for the economy.

I know I'm sick of watching my 401k go down the dunny. Investors are freaked out because they're afraid Saint Obama will nationalize something and really fuk it up. Is it any wonder gold is over $1000 and climbing? That's the only investment you can make that will still have value after the economy tanks. That and canned food and ammunition.

Pissing money we don't have down a rat hole for earmarked projects won't do any good at all. Stimulus my ass. We're in for a long bumpy ride. See you in the tent city. want to buy an apple?
