First Sneak Peek: SSD Trail King - Pro Scale Chassis Builders Kit!

That must be what happened. His reply wasn't there when i typed "thumbsup"

I've been wanting to build a 1.9 rig for a while now and have been watching all the great new releases trying to figure out which way to build it. I prefer kits to RTR's. I have figured out pricing parts separately and the kits, this price, to me, seems very fair for what your getting! And no need to upgrade anything out of the box. So just based on price it's a no brainer! I'm just wanting to know how it preforms, if it does as good as it looks it will be the one!! Now to wait for the performance reviews!! So still waiting!:)

I really, really, REALLY like what SSD has done here.

I GREATLY prefer picking my own bumpers, body, and wheel/tire combos - that was one of my biggest issues with the VS4-10 Vanquish, didn't like any of those included items except the body at ALL.

When this hits the market the 3D-printer-owning guys are gonna have a field day printing up headers and other engine bay stuff...

My only complaint is that I am a long way from dropping any greenbacks on a new rig - all these new releases could not have come at a worse time!

Thankfully, I still have a lot of building and upgrading and tweaking to do on my existing rigs with very little additional parts purchases needed for them.

Quite certain that my next new vehicle will be based off this new SSD - likely w/a Proline Jeep 12.3 body, and then in no particular order - a Sendero w/the upcoming Proline Dodge Ramcharger body, a Vanquish chassis w/SSD or Traxxas portal axles and a possibly stretched UMG10 body, and the Arrma Infraction Ford truck street basher... and somewhere in there a decent rally car, maybe converted from a 4-tec 2.0.

That ought to take care of my next few years!

Haha I'm right there with ya bud! I have 6 projects in mind. SIX!!!
I am not letting the cat out of the bag yet but yeah one is this SSD rig that I already am halfway to enough fun tickets to preorder and if everything I have up on eBay sells right now I'm in there!
Then I might finish my ford or start all 5 of the rest of my ideas haha ahhhhhhh the ADD/addictive personality life...

Oh and yes I totally agree with you about the 3D printing people going ham on this rig with extra details.
Then I was also thinking... Isnt it cool, the possibility that an aftermarket parts company releases a rig, and we could see other aftermarket parts companies release parts for this rig, made by thier competition?
Well I guess it already happens with rc4wd making parts for traxxas but I think you get my jist.

Thank you SSD!

What's the chance on just the front axles being released?

Pretty slim to be honest. It doesn't really make sense for a manufacturer to release the unique parts of a kit right away. They will get released eventually...

I completely understand and Eventually is all the answered I needed! Thanks!

I'm sure I'll somehow end up with all 3. This time I definitely will have to sell some rigs though. They're multiplying like rabbits...

I love the increase in kits though. Building is part of the enjoyment.

I'm guessing headers won't fit because of the shock towers blocking the front exhaust ports?

Just like swapping an sr20det into a usdm s13 chassis... Exhaust manifold cooks your brake master cyl/fluid...

But yeah... Looks to be a tight squeeze...

I've got a question, are the chassis rails similar to a scx10.2 or a high clearance like the vs410?? And what's the wheel base, 12.3?? Opps I guess that's 2 questions.

305 - 324 wheelbase (with optional links), 313mm standard - which is 12.3".

So that's one answer.
