Where the hell do I start? Looks like there are even flashlight forums. I just want to spend around 50 bucks for something to really light the way. Thinking an honest 2-300 lumens would do me. Knock offs are fine...............around the house use/auto work mostly. Something with a little reach preferred over a flood.

man there is soooooo many choices... I know there are better less expensive options out there but I have a streamlight stinger led... My one word of advice is go with something thats rechargeable. The juice these crazy brite LEDs use will make you broke buying batteries. "thumbsup"

We just had a group buy for this company one calguns.net
People were preaching how well they are and low price... I didnt get in on any of the deals but no one has anything negative to say.

I picked up 2 Maglite XL50 LED lights for my trip to Moab on Memorial Day... found them at Home depot for $30(came with batteries - AAA). With 107 lumens each, they are FAWKING BRIGHT! They have a full power, 25% power, and an SOS Strobe. I highly suggest them. "thumbsup"

Colman Bubba light at Wal Mart takes 6 AA and is a 173 lumen light and is only $21.00 bones. I freaking love this thing and it kills my $80.00 3C Streamlight.

I saw those at the gas station the other day and gave the lady shit. "If the suns out I don't need a flashlight."

:lmao: right?
On a serious note though, when it comes to comparing candle light and led what is ratio of it? I have one that says 7 million candle light power but what does that equal to led lumens

I have owned and used many flashight for work. They get used a lot. I have spent over $100 and as little as $30 for them.
4 Sites I have ordered from..

I'm using a XTAR SSC P7-C2, Max 900 Lumens flashlight right now... I've been using it every night at work for 3yrs. Still charging the Same 2 batteries that came with it. You should be able to get one like this from the last link for around $50 or so.

I have a Surefire G2. Found it in a parking lot.

I looked into it once. Once.

six times the light of a big two-D-cell flashlight, and more than enough to temporarily blind and disorient an aggressor by impairing his night-adapted vision.

I have a wind up flashlight also. Pretty cool.

I read over on candlepower about batteries when AAs were being used on crawlers years ago, before the 2/3A came about.

Went a picked up a couple of those the other day. I doubt you could beat them for the money. Very nice.

I ended up with one of those $50 rubber Streamlights for my birthday. It seems to work quite well.

Like Eeepee, I looked into it once....Saw a white blob for many minutes afterwards. Ouch.

I've owned a Nice Surefire and Streamlight... The China LED's are way above these two brands. My XTAR is rated at 900 lumens and I paid $70 Shipped with two batteries, Charger and Holster. I've been using it every night for 3 years on the same batteries. It has never failed me. I drop it about once week too. I've seen this light now for $50 or so. Just $30 more the Wally World one and over 700 lumens brighter.

Whats is runtime like? How do lights hold up to firearms, ie weapon mounted?

I have never had it mounted on a weapon to much. Had it on a MP-5 for about 100 rounds. Held up fine. I have dropped it many times.. The bulb is still going strong. On High I get about 1hr of run time. On Low.. It's goes for a few hours....

I use it for Searches and Counts at work 3 times a night. I charge the battery maybe ever 2 months.
