Flat Irons to Chisels

r eather of these tires a build on if so can someone post a link to them

thanks

not sure what your asking both of the tires on this thread are the Proline Flat Irons and the Proline Chisels and they both are 1.9 tires you can see them on serveral builds here and you can go to prolines web site and check there"thumbsup"

Hey Ed, anymore updates on your tire setup? I got some chisels about 3 weeks ago and now I cant stop driving my mini. I also went threw alot of foam setups and ended with some thing similar to yours. The only difference is in the rear I put a rc4wd foam out of a 4.25 tire inside of the losi mem. foam (that was fun to mount) and then ended up putting the stock oversized proline foam back in the front tires. I have about 8 packs in 3 locations on this setup and for my truck this just works. Thanks for the thread it helped alot.

Well I finally got around to testing a foam set up for the chisels and I'm very Excited on the outcome.

1...front tires have 4.50z on each tire with the losi memory foams
2...Rear tires have no weight and factory MRC foams with the losi memory foams stretched around that bascially running 2 foams in the rear.

I also moved the battery from the rear axle and mounted to the side of the chassis. Now I just ran this set up for about 45 mins and I tore it up this set up was for me unstopable! the rear tires used to have so much bite that they would flip the truck over before climbing a ledge now they will slip and bounce over the ledges. my steep up hill climbs have also became easier! I strongly suggest you try this out I bet you'll like it.

some Rc Porn for ya!

so you're saying that with a total of 9oz up front and none in the rear along with the chisels, you no longer get the rear tires just twisting the rig onto its lid but they now will spin and help you get up hill climbs? If so that is awesome, i'm tired of going over backwards everytime the rear just lifts up the front

Thats the idea DirtyMike. I have the same tires and chassis as Mr Ed. Each of my front tires all mounted with foams and all the trimmings weigh 7oz each and my truck needs to be almost vertical with my back tires in a hole for my truck to flip over backwards. But you need to byas your weight front to back a little or going down hill your rear will flip over the front. This doesnt mean you have to ad weight to your rear rims you can just play with your elec. and battery placement to achieve a good weight byas.

still running my set up and loving it! Soundcolor and I have been playing with our flatirons and i'll be posting up our very interesting findings soon so all u flat iron guys dont ditch those tires just yet!

quick tire break down

I run the flat irons . And im always messing with my foams trying different things. I like the foams that come with the flat irons cut down a little bit all the way around ,and i narrowed my fronts and glued them together with the lugs lined up instead of staggered . This helped with the grip as more lug hooks up on the rock edges . and it also changed the look of the tire . plus being narrow helped the turn radius . stops rub with the lower links .hope this helps ."thumbsup"
