i went to hardware store to buy flux and braze, once i had all my suplies ready i cracked everything open and to my surprise the flux came in a powder????

ive searched google and all and i get nothing on how to use the stuff. i assumed it was paste, and now im confused.

this is my first attempt at brazing and was eager to start , but now im stuck with figuring out how to use it, or go back and get the paste.

I was told by my local welding shop that I get my stuff from that for brazing brakeline and whatnot you want the paste. I asked about the powder and they said it was not what I needed. I don't know why however.

it came in a mini paint can and was meant for plumbing so i assimed it was paste, it didint say paste or powder, so i just assumed, ive had it laying around for over a month, im going to see if the hardware store would take it back.

i dont even know how to go about using the powder, how is it applied?

You heat the rod up and dip it in the can. It will coat the rod, and than you braze like you would braze with a coated rod.
