When building my last 650 I couldn't decide if I wanted a Super Truck or a more stock truck, it kinda went both ways until I found another body at the lhs. This is truly a spare parts build. Aluminum frame, second hand Scx10 axles, 2.2 tsl's on axial beadlocks, ancient Scx10 trans out of my og Scx10, Rc10 gold shocks, have to make some links, MIP cvds for the front axle, small 2s Lipo, 15t dynamite motor, dynamite 12t esc.
Going to try to keep this one light, and will replace parts as they break. I will also upgrade electronics as I can afford them.

A nice clean example.

I'm liking that body after seeing the 1:1 orange looks cool to..."thumbsup"
What do you figure your wheel base is going to be..

Thank you, probably my favorite Proline body too.
The wheelbase measures out to 14", not quite true to scale. It looses the length in the bed area(measures out to a 6' bed).

Maybe some fab up fender flares for the rear will do the trick."thumbsup"
Wait being clear plastic i think i see the rear fender flares.
Are the fender flares there ...

I've seen some wheels turned out by Duuuuuude that would look perfect on that rig.

I have talked to him about some, unfortunately at this moment in my life I cannot afford them. In the future I plan on some to match the 1:1 shown.

Yes they are, they just are not quite as wide as I would like.
Previous build...

Planning on this being a preformance build, so light with a low cg.
Digging for parts today, found my front axle, well everything except the bearings. I also built my rear axle with a Hh spool stock axle shafts and Axial ud gears. Still need to finish cleaning the work bench and get some link materials. Found some ax10 chassis plates I will bolt to the chassis rails for my link mounts.
Looking to a 1st gen ax10 skid plate.
I picked up some Duratrax silver paint for my base coat, and started masking the body.
Going to paint the front clip and fenders white inside to look like gel coat fiberglass, the main cab and bed will be silver to look like metal when scratched.
I have a can of pactra Lime ice green I am considering on for color, also might go metallic red, or bright yellow, don't know yet.

Those sound like racing colors to me"thumbsup".Similar to the paint scheme like Toyota Racing colors.Like Orange, red, white, and you have silver...Would be a lot work masking though, but i suppose you'll choose one....
My choice would be Yellow i find it highlight the black tires nice.
Never give up until you succeed...keep up the good work man."thumbsup"

Thanks, really considering the yellow. Duratrax paint sucks! Glad I am only using it for a base coat. Cannot see it in the picture but it laid down unevenly and spotty. Progress today, trimmed the body and got the paint base laid down. Fiberglass front clip and metal body, lol.
Stance is close to where I want it.

I'm really liking this F650 body,I'm a Ford guy myself and my 1:1 is a 2007 Ranger FX4 and would like to find a body so that i could replicate mine. The paint looking nice to..Anyways
On page 1 you stated your using an og scx10 trans i had one here i was going to use on a build and decided to open it up just to check to make sure was enough grease and notice the main gear in the trans is plastic the other 2 were steel..Mine was from ax10 days the first one.just though i mention that but then again maybe they started making them with all steel gear in scx10.Ya and the stance looking cool with those 2.2 too..."thumbsup"

I have never seen metal gears throughout a stock Scx10 trans, not saying they don't come that way I just have never seen it. I don't plan on this trans lasting a real long time, it still has the old school aluminum ends on the bottom gear.

Got the paint laid down, chose metallic red, red is my favorite color...

You know what i built my scx10 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Kit and it's been a shelfer since i bought it back then, and here i thought the kit came with metal gears in the trans. It's been sitting so long i forgot. But your right it doesn't have metal gears I thought all kits came with metal gears but I just check my manual and the Axial web site and shows no sign of metal gear expect for one the other 2 are plastic.
Sorry for the mislead...
Paints looking good.So will you be painting the outside of the body to..."thumbsup"

Thanks, no worries. Paint is on the outside, had trouble with it, looks better in the photos... working on the decals now.
I like the Proline bodies, this one especially, but I wish they had more decals! The last Hpi body I did had 2 8x14" decal sheets, this one has a 5" x8" sheet.

coming along nice.I do the same thing when I'm applying my decal to,but in the end it looks so much better then one big square decal no matter what shape it is..."thumbsup"

This is the first body I actually did this way, definitely a pain but the results speak for themselves.

Is the toolbox painted or decals

The tool box got masked off before I painted the outside of the body. Same with the grill area. It also has the latch\hindge decals applied.

This is looking real good for a Ford lol JK. Good job bra I'm going to watch this one. I might do a Chevy one. lol

Post a link when you have started it. Love the big trucks.

It's been a while since last posted, this rig will be coming along shortly, just so hot here I have little motivation to work on it right now. Collecting parts to do a front motor, and full interior. I don't know if I am happy with the current frame, we will see.

This project is not forgotten...

Made my links using stainless tubing revo rod ends and 8/32 all thread. Wheelbase is set@14".
To complete the front axle I need some flange tubes, and 1 blasted 5x11 bearing.
