I have been wanting to build an FOFF rig for a while now but I didn't have any sand or hills to race on until last weekend when I found a trail in the woods that must have about 100 different steep slopes..........so I had to get to work.

I am starting very easy:

Slash 4x4 (very lightly modified, almost stock)
Castle SCT system (running 3s)
Blitz wheels (gold chrome)
Proline Sling Shot tires
Traxxas Sway bar set
Proline Baja Bug body
Pactra Inca Gold paint

Here are some starter pics:

Stupid simple to start with and if I have tons of fun I'll build a dedicated rig. The bumpers will be trimmed off so the body can sit as low as possible.

Any questions or advise would be very much appreciated.

nice start "thumbsup"

looks like you are cooking up something good there :ror:

sorry, but had to say it

Wow, it took me a second........don't quit your day job :lmao:

Thanks, I hope to get it painted and mounted up today and then hopefully some action pics and videos this weekend.

Anyone running a slash for FoFF that can give me hints on what parts will need beefing up would be helpful. So far it has the hardened drive shaft splines and aluminum shocks on the front, other than that it's stock.

I got it painted and have the electronics in now, that 1410 castle motor is a torque monster. It has great wheel speed even with a 2s lipo. Here are the pics:
