FPV: What is out there that is compact and can handle abuse?

Like hauling your quad in the cab of your rig. Ideally fixed in place so nobody gets sick while watching from bouncing around. If I recall, guys in the Summit section of the Traxxas site have done it, one guy had a repeater deal, range was really far. Did a night drive video as well.

There were a few older vids on the tube with some 1/6 New bright/barbie bodies
with head tracking, etc that were pretty cool and had reaĺly far range for fpv. I think he was a member on here that posted them too!

I ended up buying a used ECX Barrage 1/24 RTR for 150$ that comes with a small FPV camera in the grill and a small Screen that is a DVR with micro SD card. All made by Spektrum. Screen part number is SPMVM435.

Range is not that great but then i run a scaler and such so i'm always close to my rigs. Could try recording something and posting it here but they are youtube videos and reviews online about that truck.

Have fun!

Provided you install your FPV setup under a body or a cage, it'll handle abuse as much as any other electronics components.

If you're on a budget, might want to take a look at OpenIPC FPV setups ...

I'm trying Runcam Wifilink 2 (OpenIPC project sells its own, Eachine has one too but tested neither) ... I'm still under $200 budget using the "G" version (a USB receiver to plug on a laptop, or smartphone with OTG) and some cheap VR goggles (I finally don't use but it's because of my eyes), and even headtracking (module attached to the radio or goggles with hook-n-loop). Haven't tested the range with a clean line of sight but don't expect high-end products' ranges on the ground with the stock setup ... best I've been able to get was about 200m, which is rougthly the range of my radio anyway. Maybe with better antennas ...
I went on a 2 axis home-made gimball for integration, head tracking and budget, but for a stable view I guess the best choice would be to get a gimball like the XF-Robot C-20T or the one from Walksnail.
