Frequency Management

would there be a way to get a list going on who currently has what frequencies so that no one has the option of screwing someone up. Theres going to be alot of people out there and it would be cool if maybe at each course we had a remote checkin (just like at the MHOR track here in denver).

Have a main transmitter check in by the prizes/trophies and whatnot

and have individual transmitter checkins at each course.

since the supers and the 2.2's are not running at the same time maybe in the morning ,the super runners that dont have to run in the 2.2 class could help out with radio checks and in the after noon the 2.2's could take care of the super checkins... it only takes like 4 addn'l people, and i know most everyone here is married, so for those of you "dragging" your wife along maybe this could give them something to do.

just a thought.... any comments on this? would it be possible?

It's a good idea but I don't think it's really neccesary. Only reason I say that is because we're only looking at a possible three trucks running at any given time during the competition itself, and surely three people can work it out:lol:

Sunday on the other hand, makes me glad I'll be using a Spektrum:lol:

crap now i have to buy a spektrum! ugh... good thing i didnt buy another 280z yesterday! whats the deal with running a 6 channel air radio, anyone have gripes with that?

You going to the Nats, buddy?

Also, any chance of you hitting the rocks on Sunday with us? I'll even go on Saturday, too. I need the practice.

Only people that might get pissy would be FCC or anyone trying to fly a plane/heli I guess.
bingo, I hear it is actually illegal to do, a big no no if you have been around RC's. It is an easy fix by just going to ground frequency crystals. ;-)

yes im actually flying down to GA to take the ride with JIA because it would be way easier than trying to ship all the stuff i want to bring, and cheaper. as long as i can get at least one crawler working ill be there sunday, ill have your CSC1 ready for sunday hopefully.

How About A Pole Whos Going To Run What Ch And Stuff Like That?
what part of what Jason said don't you understand?

I mentioned something and was basically told the same, responsibility isn't that hard. ;-)

really......during the comp if you are not running your radio is off!

every event I have ever been too has that rule or your radio is stored until it is your turn.

another Idea that is used quite often is a frequency chart with clothes pins with the freq colors. guys competing pick the pin they need, the pits can use the others if needed. keeps it straight.........no pin no radio on or DQ.

damn i wanted video of 60+ crawlers driving at once

Find a nice long hill.... remove motors/pinions...... Weeeeeee!!! Let 'em roll until they flop, that would be the best 10 seconds of footage ever!! 60+ crawlers out of control!!!!!!

I plan to run Spektrum, but radio impound for Saturday and Sunday morning and frequency pins (I volunteer to make these) for Sunday would be a good idea. The only problems with radio impound are: 1. you need a safe place to store all of the expensive radios, 2. you need someone to run it, 3. it will be pretty hectic.

To make sure people use the radio impound, the person handing out the radios can also attach the appropriate frequency clip. No frequency clip means no run.

Or we would just let Jason stick to his original plan.
