FriXion Rekoil shocks.

if racing or semi bashing definitely fill them with shock oil at least 30 weight oil should give you some decent stability so your not rolling over all the time :) BUZZZZ....
Understood.

I'm on vacation ATM so it'll probably bea couple weeks before I can do anything with it.

I test fitted the flexion shocks to my bomber, although they feel smooth, they feel like good quality for the price x "features" (piston/shock shaft feel a little sloppy inside the shock body) they look a little too small on a 2.2 bomber. They're also very narrow shock bodies. I'm not sure how much abuse they'd be able to take.

I ended up buying a set of PL Powerstokes, 4x Slash rears. Only to discover they can't be mounted straight out the package. The included metal pivot balls don't fit inside the vanquish trailing arms. No biggie, swapped them out for the OEM plastic balls. But, sense these are "Slash" shocks, they don't come with cap pivot all at all (Slash doesn't use pivot balls in the shock cap)

I the Powerstokes feel like good shocks (better be for the price) but now I have to wait for mounting hardware to be delivered in order to use them.

Sooo...
Almost two years later, anyone have further input on the FriXions?
I'm looking at them for a SCX10.3 build I'm working on. I really dig the dual coils. Not too hot on the lower spring cups though. May be de-anno'ing again for the first time in years...
Or just buy some different ones.
Would love to get the Kroniks, fantastic looking shocks, but way to frickin much.

Personally, If you go FriXions, ditch the dual rate spring setup. I've never ever been happy with those setups as just the smallest amount of dust or grim and the slider rings bind up - No matter the brand.

FWIW: I've been running Traxxas GTS shocks in the front with Traxxas Red pistons and 80w oil. Traxxas GTS "long arm" bodies and shafts along with red pistons and 80w in the rears. No springs, full droop style and have been extremely happy with the performance. - These too all in, are comparable to the price and performance of the Element set IMHO.

Hi there,

a bit of topic (not that much actually), but I'd like to get some information on the the AE / Enduro FT shocks #42078 : https://www.associatedelectrics.com...s/42078-ASC42078-enduro_ft_shock_set_10x90mm/

Especially the "eye-to-eye" overal length of the shock, both when fully compressed and fully extended. As well as the main shock body lenght, if anyone can help !

Thanks a lot for the help !

G-rem
They are a true 90mm eye to eye fully extended. Fully compressed they are 65mm.

I own a set of FriXions, but they have just been in the packaging. I bought their short 55-60mm set lol. I just might have a build that I might throw them on but it's not gonna be anytime soon. Maybe by Summer...
