GM bring back the Grand Sport Corvette in 2010

Where are the facts that Saab, Saturn and Hummer will be sold or killed by the end of 2009?

Did you read GM's press release?

The revised plan moves up the resolution of Saab, Saturn, and Hummer to the end of 2009, at the latest. Updates on these brands will be provided as these initiatives progress.

Saab and Hummer have both been for sale for some time. Saturn has been up and around for months, whether the dealer network was to buy the name and bring in korean/chinese vehicles to an existing network, or just killed off.

Hummer Sale
Saab news...theres more though
Saturn dealer networks actively looking for options

you guys have to remember im sure the ball started rolling on this well over a year ago. the plan had already been set in motion and the wheels turning on it so to speak.

True lets say they spent 100 million in tooling and design. The moment they needed money (Last year) all work on this project should have ceased. All engineering time, vendor time, materials, marketing funds should have been 100% frozen and re-allocated to paying their debtors....including THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, not to making another stupid nameplate version of another car that isn't making them profit.

Again they might be out tooling and have to halt a project, but they didn't need to spend money marketing them (this isn't done years ahead), producing their parts (this could have waited until they become profitable), or even wasting plant time to build show cars. When you have no sales, marketing must suffer, especially on small segment low profit margin vehicles.

GM, GM employees, GM suppliers, GM retirees; prepare for the worst. Bancruptcy is their only option at this point. We need to stop giving money to a company thats a proven failure: be it because it can't change its ideals, or is too big to change quickly. I say if we give money, give it to the company still striving to do things right....FORD. I'm no Ford fan but they are on the ball moving in the right direction, lets save them, not the ones that can't be saved. You want to save an Auto company in the US...save the one that has a chance.

For once, I totally agree. Fords are boring, but at least they are trying to move forward. I have been a GM fanl since I was a child, but the last 20 years or so, they are dying. Now, their done. It's a dead horse, stop trying to feed it. Let them go. Or reorg them and sell off all the divisions into their own little companies?
