I just picked up a G Made R1 and Hobby Town Usa on 2-14-2013. This was my very first kit build and i used some spare parts I had around to power the rig. The body panels i made out of scrap around the shop. Let me say this I like the instruction manual was laid out. It was nice to be able to mach the parts up to the photos. I started out with a 15t motor and now im running a 21t for now. There is a tekin fxr and a pro 35t on is way. This rig has 4 wheel steering man I love it. There is a total of 28oz of weight in the tires the front 2 rims have 10oz each the Rear 2 rims have 4oz each. the shocks r set up with just the small spring in the shocks. I have added a delrin skid plate with traxxas 5138 for a lower link. The rear steering is Running off of a E flite LP5DSM 5-Channel 2.4GHz helicopter transmitter with a Spektrum AR6100e DSM2 ML 6-Channel 2.4GHz Receiver. Im also runing 1 castle parallel wire harness p/n 011-0006-00. and 2 onyx 2000mah 25c 2slipos.

Good looking rig....get some videos of that thing runing...not too many videoa of the r1 with 4ws.

love your rock playground there"thumbsup". definitely get a vid showing off the 4ws. im putting those axles with 4ws on my wraith so would be kool to see how they work for you.

I had Mis betty out on the rocks last weekend with the rear steering it was sweet. A friend and I are working on a camera mount in his axial dingo. When its done then we can post up some good videos. But for now its my phone and my boy as the camera man lol.

Well these are some picks of the playground. I enjoy my R1 to the point where my other 8 are just getting dusty. A friend and i hit the park and dont go home untill the batteries are dead. With the battery set up i have it will last for 3hr. Thats not picking it up and going from place to place we are driving every where. The fxr and pro35t are in. I like how the throttle is smooth and the motor is a torqe monster. I have added a new set of tires the rc4wd part# Z-T0097 mud slingers soft compound. I will be runing them half cut to the out side. The factor foam is kinda stiff so i swapped them out for a soft set i had. There is a few more things to do to the old girl and she will be done 2 savox 500oz servos,2 servo saver,4 aluminum c hubs and 4 aluminum knukles. Well i guess its a good thing the cvds ar on there way. Cuz i killed a stub shaft drive pin today in the frontend. I need to brake out the benzo torch and replace the cross pin. The mud slingres work extremely well the bighorns not bad but took a lot to get traction. I also ran a set of moab tires on the R1 i say they are better than the bighorns. Pay day comes again im getting 2 more sets of mud slingers.

Wow that looks like a fun little place to crawl...good time, good time indeed!

Update
Well my junfac cva's are in my hand along with other parts I needed. last weekend I spun the main transmission output shaft gear on the output shaft Thanks plastic gear. In the process of swapping the cva's I found that all the small bearings were destroyed in 2 out of 4 hubs. I knew this would happen at some point in time. I was ready with a set of traxxas oilite bushings #3775.

i already broke one of my CVA's on my wraith with portals and 4ws. not too happy about it but really am liking the the clearance of the axle and 4ws

OK I put the cva's in the front and rear of my R1 everyone knows that. well today I broke my L/R cva in no way was it bound up or even under a load. This shaft has 30 minutes of run time on it. Im not to happy with junfac. I will be contacting junfact to see about a replacement shaft. It would be nice if MIP could help us out with a nice set of cva's for the R1

Damn, a few people seem to be killing these CVDs. I've had sets in both ends for about 3-4 months and have had plenty of hard bind situations and continuous full lock drive situation and haven't seemed to do them any harm at all. Sorry to see you've killed a set too mate.

Derb It is just the one im going to see if junfac will send me a replacement. I was in the sand and just started up on some 5in rocks on the side of a small hill and it broke . I do under stand you sometimes get bad parts but after a 3 or 4 weeks of looking in the mailbox just took to long for me. If MIP was making them I could see 3 or 4 days to the mailbox ot the hobby shop.

Yep, mine broke in the exact same place while driving it on a concrete parking lot showing it to the guys at work. wasnt straining it or anything, just showing off the 4WS with the 4PL. that was the second time driving it. about 4 hours total on the little rig. 95% of that was on the rocks doing a shake down run

put the stock dogbone back in the busted corner to get it running again

greengoblin,
i would like to know what junfac says so i can decide what to do. still wish MIP would help

Guys are these GMade buggys any good? Been looking at one and havent wanted to pull the trigger yet. Do they come without the 4w steer? or is that the only option?
