Wow, Really like your site. The videos, pics and everything reassures me that I made the right decision in buying a Spider!

Did you get the 4WS working/done? I'm planning on doing mine that way right out of the box.

Again, Great Site!

Yeah I got dual servos hooked up now but I haven't really had a chance to crawl with it that way yet.

Thanks for the compliments on my rc site. My photo host is a turd though some sometimes you have to refresh like crazy to get them to load... I'm working on switching all my photos over to another host...

Look at these threads about the Spider:

Hey merc, got any pics of yours from the front or rear? I am curious about the width with Axial beadlocks...

kjr2, I will have to take some better pics to give you the view your looking for, but this one is close. I narrowed the Axial wheels quite a bit to bring in the track center to 12" and to the outside of the tires is 15.25". The G-Made axles are wider than Clod axles, but I haven't measured the difference myself.

So you used the 14mm gmade hex + the 14-->17mm adapter included with the Axial wheels?

I was worried about the overall width being very narrow but that is not the case at all I guess. Do the Axial wheels have some offset from the factory?

kjr2, I didn't use the G-Made hexs. I used 17mm Ofna hubs drilled and tapped for #6-32 set screws on the G-Made axles. Then I can use a self locking nut on the threaded end of the axle for a backup... The adapters with the Axial wheels wont work that way. They are meant to be used on axles that are drilled for drive pins.

OK I think I understand. You've been helpful.

What body are you going to use on your Spider?

kjr2, I am going to use a Associated MGT body. They are a little longer than the average bodies used. I will post some more pics later, so check back.

wow, i kind of forgot about these for a sec. i still wish g-made would sell just the axles as a kit. i mean yeah, the chassis looks nice, and all, but i think those axles sitting under a nice CF NN would look even nicer....

G-Made Spider stub axle narative...

Here is the gmade 8mm axle stub... Notice the flats on the shaft and no drive pin holes!

This is the Ofna 8mmX17mm hub with the drive pin holes drilled and tapped for #6-32 set screws

This is the Ofna hub mounted on the gmade stub with set screws on the flats of the shaft, once the 17mm nut goes on you could follow that with a 5mm self locking nut, Let's see those come loose!

Here is another 17mm option using the gmade 12mm hex with Bender Customs 12mm to 17mm Clod Adapters, adds a little width too! still enough thread for a 5mm self locking nut? maybe? I think so?

I hope this helps all that wish to use the Axial Beadlocks on there G-Made stub axles.

Nice pics!

That MGT body fits nicely!

How tall are those 40 series Masher compared to Moab/XL?

kjr2, The Mashers came out being 6.5" tall on the narrowed wheels. I not sure about the moab XL's, but they are advertised to be 6.9" on a normal width wheel.
