go Paul Jr! (OCC)

I think PJD is heading towards this kind of bike building design and quality.

PJD is not quite there yet, but they're on the way

Like I said it's all opinions and as been said before opinions are like assholes..........:ror:

I know neither of them could build a bike like this:

or this:

I gotta agree on the post about bobbers, OCC did a great one for Billy Joel a few years ago.

If it a chopper, I like them long and low like Jr builds. His is by far the best of the 2 and I have to give him respect for taking the high road on the bullshit his father spews.

Now my tastes run more to this:

JR's bike was cool. But it looked like the bike Matt Hotch built several years ago for a biker build off. Not the exact bike, Matts bike did not look like a cadilac, but the style is not original.

Paul SR's bike had a street fighter look, but I thought it was ugly. I would much rather have Jr's wife over Sr's so at least he won in that one.

As soon as I saw that he was doing the airbag thing to eliminate the kickstand I thought of the Matt Hotch bike... At the time I didn't even think about the similarities of design between the two, but seeing them together like that you can really see it. He changed the overall style and theme, but the proportions are really close.

I did like the sound of Jr's bike though...

And I agree.. Jr. wins in the wife department...

PJD is headed in a better direction. Their bikes will look a lot better once they start hiding all of the brake and throttle cables.

This is my style:

I was comparing his bike to other bikes like his.: Notice how the brake cables mess with the lines of the down tube and the fork.

The brakes are on the other side of that bike, if the pic was taken from the other side you would see them, JR should have put his on the other side also.

You're killing me. I like choppers with internal throttle and concealed clutch and brake lines.

I can't believe people still watch OCC. The show started out okay years ago but when all the drama came about, I really started to hate it. I used to enjoy it but Paulie JR started to show his arrogance and childish behavior and I really started to hate it. They really do very little fabrication compared to other shops that get little to no recognition publicly. Welding mounting tabs on a tank, and ordering a bunch of parts from a catalog isn't custom bike building, it is just assembly of a bunch of stuff.

The new Father vs Son basis for the show now really disgusts me. It is glorifying the act of family being at each others throats, and I don't support that. I even make sure if I leave the TV on while I am not watching it, that its not on their show, I don't want to add anything to their ratings. If they want a show about custom cycles, there is plenty of other shops that make OCC bikes look like they are made frfom playdough, give them some fame, not 2 fat men who make nice gates, and ok bikes that now cooicidentally hate each other, which has boosted their ratings from the old show where they worked in the same shop. Both the Pauls are arrogant, I dislike JR the most becase he doesn't respect his father, who is the entire reason he is even rich and famous to begin with, his father built OCC, they were already pretty well off from their fence and gate building. I think the fact that Discovery already has OCC hats and shirts in evety gas station across america is the only reason they are still on TV, they just build the same ugly, clumbsy bike over and over, now they just pretend to hate each other while doing it in different shops.

Classic example of a show that is struggling for viewers, is the eposide they built that custom YFZ quad, that thing was ugly and pretty pointless, my quad woould put it to shame and I build mine in a 10x20 shed and was usually baked and drunk off my ass while doing it. The only good fabricators OCC has are the ones that don't get any recognition, its all about chubby JR and the mighty fu-man-chu of senior, they are a joke to me, and a waste of good airtime, I would rather see new biker buildoffs. You ever see OCC on one of those shows? Of course not, they would loose horribly, I saw an OCC bike at a show onetime, it had a fly in the paint, painted right over it, an $80,000 bike w/ a house fly in its paint? C'mon, that's pathetic, they may as well be made in the same shops as the cheap gas station 4wheelers you see for sale everywhere, at least they aren't overpriced junk, just cheap junk.

Sorry for the rant, but I really don't like OCC at all anymore, epitomizing a father/son fued makes me sick, don't buy the t-shirt, don't watch the show, you will be better off.

Generally speaking, I agree with you though maybe not as strongly. :) But let's face the unfortunate fact that drama sells. Just look at all the other surprisingly successful stuff on TV these days. Ultimately, the viewers are to blame for this so, like you, I also will often change the channel of the TV from those shows.

I give OCC a bit more fab credit, though. Yes, they are certainly "assemblers", not "fabricators" when you're comparing their stuff to most other high end builders, but they have shown they can fab some quality stuff. Notice I said "can" and not "do". :ror:

Personally, the bike show I miss the most is Biker Build Off. Little drama (other than deadlines) and you could see all kinds of quality fabricators/builders/painters who are masters at their craft. And most of them didn't seem to have near the ego which made watching them much more tolerable. 8)

I really do hate OCC strongly, and miss Biker Buildoff. OCC also tarnishes the spirit of motorcycling in general by glorfying their bad attitudes towards each other. Bikers for the most part are friendly and generous people, Biker Buildoff represented that very well, different shops helped each other out, people complimented the competition, showed positive attitudes towards each other, and just plain had fun and rode bikes, that's what its all about, not throwing chairs thru windows, or shouting at each other, or making light of someones drinking problems, or growing obnoxious moustache's.

Ever since Indian Larry died, Discovery channels biker based shows have gone downhill badly, I miss Larry, he was an idol to the biker community, now we have The Pauls and its just plain sad. I know drama sells, look at rerality tv (yuck) but I think real bikers mostly hate OCC, and the people who don't have bikes love them, and just have the shirt and think they are a bikers.

TV in general the last 10yrs has ruined society IMO, we glorify ****s, idiots, douchebags and tools to a godlike level and then everyone wonders why pre-teens and teenagers are such flaming morons nowadays. Evreyone thinks they are on Jersey Shore, or the Real World, and they just develope into bigger and bigger idiots day by day. The movie Idiocracy really looks like the way the world is headed, I am not joking either.
