Picked up a used wraith and want to rebuild/build up the trans. What grease do you guys have good results with? I read about the Mobil 1 grease? Would like something that I can get quickly and easily and not have to wait for shipping.
Go to your local Mercury Marine dealer and ask for Engine Coupler Spline Grease. This stuff is water proof and is ment to withstand the heat and pressures of a sterndrive engine. Best grease you could put on a ring and pinion. My next recommendation is Mercury 2-4-C, this is what I use as it's a little thinner and I don't need to remove it for "winter" running.

I use the Mobil 1 grease. Seems to work good at repelling water. I will take my axles and trans apart twice a season ( spring thru fall) but to keep the dust out of the bearings. I lube my bearings with royal purple max film. Most all bearings last a full season.
