Ground Pounder vs Barbarian

I started with a heavily modded GP, and now I just run 2 clods, i didnt like the GP much, it's so close to being a great truck, but the small things ruin it. The clods handle better and are pretty much bomb proof for the speeds I want.

Join clod talk and RCMT. They are the best resources for all things MT

Joining RCMT requires emailing a mod. email william, second post in this thread - new regisration probs

Brett at CPE is a fantastic guy and offers great support. I have nothing but good things to say in regards to my dealings with him.

There are a few great options chassis wise for shafty's, theres even one really cool vintage leaf chassis! If I wanted a race shafty i'd go barbarian on AR60's. Aluminum for me, carbon looks pimp but i like to to know i could send it off a cliff and be able to bend it strait again

Thanks.

Clear your pm box, hippie.

This is what I have been working on. It will have a cab section that can be slid forward and back for different bodies. It uses a wraith skid and drivetrain.

I remember that Shane, nice truck!

I stumbled across another good looking option.

Welcome to Solidaxlefan.com

I've seen that one. There is a FB page "SHAFTY SOLID AXLE MT's" that I have been a member of for a while that posts various trucks.

I have the CAD files for mine still, I think, if you want to do it yourself on the machines. Your pm's still arent pming.

Yeah I'm on that FB page too.

When my vendor star expired my box of 900+ messages instantly overloaded my new limit of 100 messages, and I have not taken the time to sort that out.

I designed this with SnoopMaxx a few years ago, cab is adjustable as well. Made 3. I still have the CAD files. Worked with clods, wraiths and TXT's.

I really like that chassis, subtract the cab, and the top row of shock mount holes, just for the tiny weight savings and that would be a great race chassis!

I made it out of thin delrin to test the how light I could get the truck. Only reason the back cab supports broke is I left an extra set of holes in the CAD file that werent supposed to be there.

It was 6.5lbs RTR without the body. 2200mah lipo, shaved rumbles, etc. Worked great but I couldn't find anyone to cut mass quanities for me at a decent price or I would have gotten a vendor star for it.

Rowdy if you want to go super baller, get someone to build you a new era knock off... then you have a super scale modern shafty

I would build one of yours but I'm lazy.

The monster factory isn't doing much of anything lately. The guy that runs it has been has been having health problems. They havnt accepted new orders for over six months now.

That's terrible. Hopefully things get better for him. What's the cost on these Boyer chassis's I keep seeing builds on?

I dont know but I would expect Mattzilla type pricing, only maybe a bit more because more material is used.

The new era chassis was like $230, the boyer is pretty similar but allows for shaft builds instead of being designed for MOA use.
