GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

Ill have to play with the settings a bit tomorrow, I'm not as tech savy as mechanical haha, I appreciate the quick feedback

Yeah I was trying to be real light on the trigger but when I need to power out of a jam its very frustrating, especially in a comp when I'm already being penalized for the reverse as it is :x

Just to let ya'll know...

My website (not my store) is really buggy right now and my overkillrc email is DOWN

overkillrc.3dcartstores.com should be fully functional

But all the manuals, pictures, firmware files, etc. May or may not work...i'm working on getting this fixed, unfortunately the way stuff works i have to wait 24+ hours to see if my changes fixes the issues

So I've run through the template to assign channel 3 to the Ch3 Trim Switch as a non-momentary 3-position switch and nothing happens. My servo is plugged into the CH3 slot on the RX. Weird thing is that the servo in CH3 rotates when I pull the throttle trigger on the tx. What gives?

Sounds like you assigned it to channel-2 (throttle), or, it's mixed to channel-2.

What firmware are you running?

So. I'm an idiot. Did have some mixing going on, hence the ch3 dig servo rotating from throttle inputs. However, what was holding me back from getting the CH3 Trim Key to actuate my dig servo was my failure to back completely out of the settings menus by pressing the End button. I knew I was missing something.

To set 3-position dig (not dual ESCs):
1. Scroll to REV, press long-enter.
2. Scroll to 3 (which is the Ch3 trim switch on the side of the radio hand-grip) and press short-enter.
3. Scroll to CH3 and press short-enter.
4. Scroll to BNL and press short-enter.
5. Scroll to set to 100% servo throw (for the two extreme positions) and press long-enter.
6. Press End to get out of the menus.

To fine-tune the 2 non-centered positions:
1. Scroll to E. Point and press short-enter.
2. Scroll to 3 and press short-enter.
3. Scroll to set the percentage of servo throw for the left-most position. DO NOT PRESS ENTER.
4. Rotate the steering wheel on the radio to the right to access adjustments to servo throw adjustments for right-most position.
5. Scroll to set the percentage of servo throw for the right-most position.
6. Press long-enter.
7. Press End to exit menus.

Sometimes, when I have my rig on a steep incline, I find that I want to shift into front dig for one reason or another. The problem is that I have to shift through neutral to get to front dig (lock the rear wheels.) As soon as the rig shifts into neutral, it rolls backwards down the grade for several feet, dragging the front wheels as it goes before I can click once more to lock the rear wheels. To get around this, I program the D/R switch to toggle between 4WD and front dig; bypassing neutral completely. Here's how to program D/R trim switch (just above CH3 Trim switch) to toggle between 4WD and Front Dig (locked rear wheels.)

1. Scroll to REV, press long-enter.
2. Scroll to d (which is D/R switch on transmitter grip) and press short-enter.
3. Scroll to CH3 and press short-enter to assign D/R switch to Channel 3.
4. Scroll to BNL and press short-enter. This makes it so that switch responds the same way when you press it regardless of how long you press.
5. Scroll to set to 200% servo throw and press LONG-enter. This will make it skip center and toggle between extremes.
6. Press End repeatedly until Menus have been exited.

Working with a GT3C

I want to set-up 4 Wheel Steering.

Basically is there a way to make it front only, front and rear mixed, Crab and rear only?

I have the gt3c hacked already and have it on my wraith without this, but will be doing 4ws on my 1.9 titan

I'm pretty sure you'd use mix amount and assign that to trims. Then, crab/no crab on channel 3 button. With the mix at 0 you get the same amount of steering front/rear. At 100 and -100, you have no steering on the front or rear servo.

You won't like it set up that way. Tried on my c3 rig and not much control. Better to set up rear independently. I posted a template up a while back for the way you are asking for in this thread.

I spent an hr trying to figure this out. I want when i press the ch3 button the value is set to 100 and when i press it again it goes to 0 (on ch5) can someone help me out?

So I'm finally getting around to the point where I'm going to mess with my program settings on my gtb3. All I need is momentary switches for all of the additional channels, for a shift servo, light controller, winch, 2 firgelli actuators (basically same as winch), and eventually a screw drive system.

Anyway my question is about the above programming, is this what I need and is it the same for all the additional channels 3-8 to set them up as momentary switches? I don't need mixing or anything else at this time.

My only real concern would be the winch and actuators I need them setup to operate like the controller they come with operates.

Push button -- out, Push button -- neutral or stop, Push button -- in

Thanks for any input you can give, I'm trying to go through the programming sheet but I'm lost on some of it ( prob because my heads all fuzzy from this stupid cold)

Hey bud, if you need help with your site, or just a spot to put your manuals, instructions, etc online for download, let me know. I've got several high quality servers we can put those files on so people have access to them while you get your new site sorted out. No charge, fee, etc, just a helping hand if ya need it.

Cheers.

They should all be good for a while...I got my domain transferred but i changed the nameservers back to my old hosting site so everything should be working.

I'm going to get another domain to test the new hosting company and figure out how to get it all setup so all my links work (I hate broken links, so i want try and prevent them)

You can always set up redirects so there are no broken links. I'd bet it's just how 3dcart has their server set up which is causing the issue.

One of the sites we manage is an online store. When we did the redesign we built two sites for them which are skinned to look the same. The second site is used for marketing, branding, news, articles and downloads.

A simple wordpress site would do that for you and you could set it up for free.

Good luck bud!
