Harley's Sukura D3 Drifting Semi

I have been looking for a CS chassis to try this year. The drifters are slow enough for my eyes to follow and I have a smooth concrete driveway that I drift on now. Would you recommend the D3 kit for someone with limited vision to build? I want to take on the challenge of building another kit, but I have heard that the pulley's are a pain to assemble and the hardware is prone to stripping. I have built several kits in the past but have not tried one since losing most of my sight. I'd also like to thank you for your youtube videos; the amount of description that you give along with what you are showing makes it very enjoyable for me to listen to even though I may not be able to see clearly what is going on. For that same reason I look forward every week to the rccarcast too.

For me, I don't feel like this would be a kit I would want to attempt with limited vision. But maybe that's because I am not as comfortable with these types of cars. If you bought the upgrade pullies it would eliminate the headaches of installing the tiny pins in the stock pullies since they use a set screw. I feel like being able to set the belt tension settings at the diff and on the tensioners would be even more of a nightmare without your sight. The diff uses an out of round circle type adjuster with very tiny screws and small adjustments. It took me several times to get it right with having full use of my 5 senses!

Personally it would not be what I would like to attempt.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think that trying to mess with something that tedious would be good for someone with 20/1200 vision. I have looked at a few other options as well, such as the MST and eagle cars that evol has featured on his channel. I really like the idea of the yokomo drift truck body, that should set your car apart from the rest!

Got any updates on this build Harley? Thinking of trying the d3 for my first drift car, keen to hear how it has been going.

No updates. Winter got busy and I didn't touch it much. Now it's crawling season! It's still kicking around here but I don't know that I plan on really doing anything with it until it gets cold again. Drifting is fun but it doesn't come close to the crawling/scaling scene for me.

I agree totally, I built a drift car for winter and am selling it now.
