Headphone listeners

A couple of beers, and all you need is this.

I just gave my Dad my Grado SR60s that I've had and used continuously since 1995 or so. He was using the included crapper buds from an iPod, and it was the least I could do to save him from the torture.

If anyone actually enjoys just sitting around and listening to music these days, I highly suggest the Grado SR60i. They're $70, but are a revelation in what you can hear from a cheaper headphone.
 
Tell you what, I'm thinking of dropping the coin on the holy grail.

I have the Bose Noise Cancelling full size and love them at work and on flights. Still not the level you're talking about?

amazing sound and especially comfortable if you have watermelon sized head like me
the velvety feeling pads are also really nice since they dont trap heat, especially this time of year

at around 250 they are not exactly for the budget minded but well worth it

gaming headsets aim more toward surround sound and not so much chrispness of the sound
i use a set of tritons for my gaming needs though

The AKG 702s have always been of interest, but when I think about long term commitment, I don't think they'll cut it. Some things are worth dropping some big cash on, because you'll get your monies worth over the longer term. :mrgreen:

Might as well go all in...

Wow! Good thread!

I listen all the time on earphone, rather it be drumming(DT770M), mixing(MDR-7505), driving(FMJ CHROME) or don't want to wake anyone up-TV etc..(MDR-CD280).

I paid less then that for the jeep in the parking lot:shock:. I suppose cause I'm losing my hearing... partly genetics partly poor safety management around loud machinery, I couldn't justify spending more then $20 on a set, but then again $1400 set of headphones would be wasted on me..... the real shame was before my foray into the fore mentioned industrial equipment I was rather fond of music for its richness and quality. Back in my school days I was the guy who spent a butt load of money on his home and car audio and it wasn't all bass :shock: :roll:


Its not everyday a 18 year old kid would sit in the school parking lot with the top down rocking out to some Ride of the Valkyries.
