Headphone listeners

Those are awesome rules. :ror:

How about modifying a pair, or set to have only one ear piece, so when that breaks, you can plug in the other side. Does that make any sense?

More or less, chop one side off, and when the one fails, solder in the other one.

i will say ive heard great things about skullcandys but i bought a pair of $15 earphones at wal-mart and my ears rang for a whole day after listening to my ipod on full blast for about 20 minutes

One time I bought some skullcandy headphones, the green ones, and I used them for a little while and then I lost them. That's the last time I spend $20 on some headphones.

I have a pair of Dr dre beats ..and a pair of bose...paid 250 for the beats and 175 for the bose ...they only get used when I hit the gym

First review on the kicker page isn't too promising. :ror:

I might take delivery of a sennheiser MM60iP today. MSRP is 130, between an Amazon deal and a mail in rebate I got them for about $25 shipped!

I spent $90 on sunglasses once. Left em at a Burger King. That's the last time I spent any money on sunglasses.

I bought a pair of Ray-Bans in 1988, still got 'em. By now I think they're fully amortized :ror:

How many sets do you have now?

I'm decent at showing restraint. Not including two sets of apple earbuds these will make only three. Would be four but I let dad have the Grado sr60, and I have the HD800, HD595, then the soon to arrive MM60. Guess I'm turning into a sennheiser fan boy.

These will be the on ear iPod phones, the 595 for the computer (movies, TV, and tunes), then the 800s for more serious listening.

The next 3 are though :D.. God knows what that guy did to them. I guess if they die in 3 months I'll double up and buy a bit more expensive of a pair.

Nice! THe HD 800s are freaking awesome and with the Sonett amp with it's killer tube set up, the stereo really sings now. I mean REALLLLLY sings now. I can easily be transported into music wonderland when my mood is right.

I think that song is from Quietest Moments? Something like that? Pretty sure I have that record.

any thoughts on the klipsch x5's? I have been looking for an isolating setup and these were 249 when they were released and frys had them on sale for 99 so i picked up a set. they are clear but don't have as much body as i would have thought. Thoughts, questions, ideas?

Skullcandy's are good for the money. great bass.

Bose, IMO is kinda over priced for the sound quality. theres a joke for bose too.. "no highs, no lows, absolutely must be bose, but either way it freakin blows"

Dr.Dre beats are a joke..... its like the sound quality of skullcandies, but enforced with monster livewire and "Dr.Dre"

For the cash, Klipsch and Sennheiser IMHO are top of the line for the lower $500.

So, I totally broke the crap out of my Numark PHX headphones lastnight. I had broke them before, and glued and taped them together. Its just past that point. (I dont recommend them, They do have incredible sound...but they are cheap plastic, and break with normal use)

I was considering some skullcandy earbuds, but I dont know if they are gonna be even close to the sound I was getting with an around ear headphone.

Thoughts?

skull candys are very good. they kind of have a noise cancellation system with the right ear bud. but other than that, you will not hear some high and lows in the song that you can hear with higher end earphones, but you will get enough of the high and lows to enjoy the music.
