Hell - Yeah! New Losi Monster Trucks...

I’m going to hang out on it until that price (hopefully) drops down from hype level. $600 is a lot of coin for a rig that just jumps and pops wheelies lol.

The price tag is the biggest thing holding me back on these. Between this and the redcat lowrider, $600 seems like a popular price. A bit on the high side for me to jump for either. I don’t see myself driving either one enough for that kind of coin.

Horizon RCs are on the expensive end for sure, but the tradeoff is they usually don't require a ton of expensive upgrades to actually do what's advertised on the box.

On the other hand, you gotta really enjoy the scale appearance and handling in order to tolerate needing to slow to a crawl for every corner, based on my previous experience with solid-axle monster trucks. (mine was a converted Wraith with unlocked diffs and HPI Savage tires.) I didn't keep mine long.

Is 13.5” wheelbase so that’s good. Seems like that’s plenty as far as scale goes. I’m excited to see another MT besides the SMT10 with a decent footprint, I have no interest in any of the others because they are 10-11”. Too stubby lol. Although my plan if I grabbed an SMT10 was going to be a trailing arm delete and 12.5” link setup. This thing looks much more proportional.

The roller is interesting and glad they have a black cage option, although the blue would work with a ton of paint schemes. I’ll wager Son uva sells more than Gravedigger.
Is a 13.5" wheelbase a standard size for solid-axle monster trucks nowadays, or is it just a "good size"?

13.5 is pretty standard, although some guys put a "short wheelbase kit" on their trucks to shorten it to 12.8". Makes it more nimble and turns quicker for competitive racing.

Watched a few videos - VERY impressive truck. Losi did a great job.

Rumor has it there's a 5th scale version upcoming... Imagine it would be 6S using Super Baja Rey drivetrain parts.

I have been pumped about this release since it was just some words on a screen from the Horizon UK "Coming Soon" leak and what I have seen so far does not disappoint. The Son Uva Digger version is on order with my local shop already (since there are 3 other monster trucks waiting to be painted in my garage and I'm feeling lazy).

The new axles are probably the most impressive part since your choices have been AR60s with all their known problems, ancient Clod axles, or Freestyle axles that cost more than a LMT roller to build. These Losi axles look beefy enough to hold up to some serious bashing and general monster truck stuff.

Fun! Pretty stoked to see all of the interest here in the forum. Never really been a monster truck guy, hopefully seeing what guys do with these changes my mind. I have always had a great experience with Losi products, so I am completely optimistic of the quality this will bring.

This is pretty much what I told a friend, last night. I have a sentimental connection to the Son uva Digger, because the Traxxas MJ Son uva Digger(Stampede 2wd) was my first 1/10 scale truck, 7 years ago, and I had it for two years, but I don't know if $600 is worth reconnecting to that memory. Up here in the PNW, monster-trucking, either 1:1 or RC, is not very popular, and I don't have time for RC groups or events, so I must truly appreciate an RC for what it is, and be confident I would enjoy it by myself before spending $$$ on it. I have sufficient space to run a monster truck, but it would likely get boring in a short time, and become a shelf queen. I have a Redcat Kaiju that I've run less than 2 hours in the past two months, and probably won't see much more until spring, now that everything is wet and mucky.

My mud truck is mostly a shelf queen between repairs. I typically change something, get excited, run it through a few puddles, then decide to change something else if I didn’t break anything. It’s not that exciting lol, similar to the real thing. But at least you can jump a MT. Wake me up in 2 years when these things are selling used with upgrades haha.

If they put out a replica MaX-D body.........BAM! IT'S MINE!! Besides, my Max-D Slash needs a brother.

That’s a good looking Max-D[emoji106]

Did you make it, or buy it?

I wonder how well the Axial Max-D body would fit on the LMT roller? Too narrow, possibly? I've considered ordering the roller, because I have electronics I can use, and one or more fitting bodies, but eventually I would want the SoD body and blue cage parts, and that would probably put me at just a little less than $100 of the RTR. Still, even $400 seems lot for a roller w/no electronics. I might sell my Redcat Kaiju, and a couple other rigs and go for it.

Thank you. I built this using the jconcepts monster truck conversion kit for the slash 4 x 4. 95% of the parts on the truck are not Traxxas at this point. I think the only stock Parts left are the differentials, shocks and rear bumper. It's a super fun truck to drive, but doesn't react like a solid axle does. It's the super smooth performance version of a solid axle

When u quote a comment with photos in it you can delete the photos out of the quote so everyone doesn’t have to see the same photos again in the thread. Not fussing, just not sure if you knew that was possible. Makes these threads cleaner.

I didn't know you could delete the photos out. That's good to know

Sorry about that. I forget about it a lot.

Timing on this could not be better for me. I was seriously considering am SMT10 soon... But I really dont like the offset diff axles and how much upgrades they need to take a beating.

This thing comes with everything I would have done and MORE!
I promised a buddy at work we would build drifters next amd I just finished my slash megalodon, so maybe I can slang some stuff to afford a drifter chassis and hopefully I can nab one of these LMT rollers for christmas!

Not sure what body I will put on it but you could bet your first born it will be a blue oval of some sort ;)

Cool and all, but the price tag not what I would pay for this type of vehicle. Not saying the value isn't there, just not there for me.

If anyone has the Kyosho Mad Crusher and gets the LMT, I would like to know if LMT diff bevel gears fit into Mad Crusher axle and if it would give under-/overdrive.
