I have had my eyes on this thing for a while now and i was wonderinf what people think about them and how competitive they are against say a revo platinum.

Avoid the Hellfire at all costs; so I've heard. We had a guy in our local club that had one and I don't think he every finished a race. From what I've read on other forums, the general consensus is that they are junk. Comparing the Hellfire and the Revo is like comparing apples to oranges. The Hellfire is a Truggy whereas the Revo is a Monster Truck. The Hellfire doesn't have a transmission like the Revo does, so in that respect it is more reliable and easier to work on. Normally, a decent truggy will clobber a Revo on the track, but the performance of the Hellfire is so horrible, it probably would be about equivalent if not worse performing than the Revo Platinum.

I agree , from experience . I coundn`t get that thing to turn or stay together to finish a 5 min qualifier muchless a main . Tried it for 6 months never finished better than last , the few times it did stay togeather. I then converted an Xray buggy to a truggy (THXAT) and qualified 2nd and finished a 40 min main in second first time out with it , so I know it wasn`t just my terrible driveing. A Revo would be a good choice for a MT , I really miss mine.

In my opinion with equal drivers the Revo PL would suck the lexan off the HF on a track .

Do not buy it unless you like making your parts from scratch, which is what my dad had to do to get his to make a 30 minute main.

If you do decide to get one, get all the parts BCE makes for it.

ok thanks guys. ive been wanting to get into racing for a long time but just cant make my mind up. didnt know which way to pull. revos seem real reliable and a very good monster truck. i have a nitro MT but dont think it'd worth taking to a race. i like HPI so thats kinda where i was going with it but if it dont work then it just dont work...

Revo's are great MT's and reliable for an MT. But they do break more than their truggy counterparts on the same crash.

As for racing, whats big classes for racing in your area? If MT is big thats a good class to start, if not you might look to another good class.

Buggy's are probably the most durable on a track, but may not be your liking.

its funny so many people have problems with them, I've had mine since the day they were released and spent about a half a day tuning the suspention and its unstoppable. Granted I have upgraded mine.

Light weight chassis
Carbon fiber upper deck
Billet shock towers
Billet chassis braces
light weight spur
complete sway bar set
aluminum shock caps
titanium hing pins and link rods
billet hing pin brace
OS .21 vzb spec t
JP-2 pipe
rear wing
changed shock oil and diff oil
2nd gen suspension arms

most of the stuff is stock on the ss version.

the only part I dont think the ss has is the billet hing pin brace and it needs that but otherwise its a very capable truck especially with a little suspension tweeking.

nice crappy pic
