Hendrix X-Chassis racer

Got the suspension done on this thing and slapped it together for a test run in the snow. I have a couple ferret motors in it on a pitiful 6-cell nimh pack, which caused it to die early. It doesn't like the thick snow very much either. It would probably do better in 2" instead of the 4-6 we have. Anyway, here's some pics and a couple unedited videos. You can see the front motor loosen up and loose gear mesh at the end of the first video.

Flex is minimal, but enough for a scaler that will go fairly fast. Now if this white stuff would go away I could get this thing finished as far as the asthetics go. Thinking of going with this paint scheme, and the cruiser grill is nice.

Well, tried out 2s lipo today and I don't think that these axles are good for speed. Maybe with steel gears but I don't plan on upgrading them. I was messing around with full throttle in the gravel and stripped the rear idler gear. So I'm going to switch back the the banebots motors and run them on 3s li-ion. I may replace the gear I stripped with a metal one, but I'm not going all metal. Got the chassis stripped down and will work on the looks now.

also if you are running bigger tires, don't neglect to replace the output gear dogbone cups... the stock ones are plastic, and will shread with the smallest bind on the bigger tires...

I'm running 3s on the stock motors, and love it. She performs well enough, I could use a little bit of motor bias control to dial out the stall, but not too bad really.

Yeah I expected to see some wear on the outdrives but they looked fine. I was running stock tires. If I ever change tires it will be for something more realistic but similar in size, like a 1.9 flatiron or similar.

Some more progress. I'm not really a fan of stingers but figured it might look good. Should be finished soon.

nice job looks good "thumbsup""thumbsup" glad to see the high speed put to a good use

Well I made some progress today. Spare tire carrier and back "tailgate" section added. I'm trading this project though, so I think I'm done working on it unless the new owner wants something added.

Well, here are probably the last pics before it gets traded off. The last few pics show a Hendrix chassis I attempted when I first got into RC, 5 or 6 years ago. I think I've improved just a little, haha.

Thanks, hope the guys I am trading it to is pleased also. I have seen enough guys on here go from hobbyist to vendor, to banned, to know to stay far away from turning my fun into work, haha.
