Hi-Point 9mm's

Had a HI-Point 9mm... ran three clips through it and something in the slide mechanism broke. (Top jammed back and never moved again)

But I don't need a semi-auto anyway. The S&W .357 works just fine.

well i guess i'll be that outcast here, ive had a highpoint 9mm and .45 for over 2 years with thousands of rounds shot through both of them, never clean either of them and have yet to have any problems with them. they also have one of the best warantees in the business, a guy i know dropped one (not sure how) into a bailer, messed it up bad as you can imagine and they replaced it for free no questions asked.

I would bet BIG $$$$ that you haven't put 1000's or rds through a HiPoint with NO CLEANING and not had any failures!!!!! I CALL BS!!!!!!!!!

i have agree with Kenny on this one. BS. there is now way, slack tolerances in the POS, it can't handle not being cleaned.

i will put my Springfield or my Kimber up against a Hi-Point for firing 'dirty'. i needed a good LAUGH."thumbsup":lol::lol:

S&W .44 mag works well for me...and with speedloaders reloading isn't much slower than changing a clip if you practice it enough. Although I've been looking at a 10mm Glock lately. A buddy has one and its pretty sweet. Also thinking about a .500 S&W.
I wouldn't buy a 9mm anything....what a joke. May as well shoot a .22

Two of my cousins have hi-point .45's and they work good enough for their purpose...which is mostly plinking.

X2 High Point guns are not worth a shizzzit and I too would also find it hard to believe that you have shot a 1000 rounds through one without cleaning and no failures..Now go buy yourself a Springfield XD and feel free to go ahead and do that."thumbsup"

My next pistol will be a S&W 1076 10mm... Really like S&W's and Sig's, never really shot a Glock that I liked for some reason, don't know why that is. These guys are right too, don't go cheap on a weapon, even if it is just for shooting bottles, too much at risk IMHO.

10mm is a AWESOME rd"thumbsup" When the 10mm came out it kind of went under the radar so to speak. It has killer speed with amazing knock down:shock: It's a very under rated rd! If you ever have a chance to grab a 10mm, do it!!!

Hands down the biggest POS pistol you can get! STAY AWAY FROM THEM! I would trust a rock more than one of them! They really are crap, throw away guns! What is your budget?

I'm glad we all agree that it is a big POS"thumbsup"

X100:shock: I have owned one since I was 21. If you read my story in the other thread, this is the 9mm I had. It is the worst gun I ever owned and can never trust it to fire. You can't use any cheap ammo in the gun or it will jam, guaranteed:lol: Have to use high $$ ammo even for practice. I replaced springs and everything to make it better and never could. I would stick to the bigger names and get a quality piece like everyone else was saying.

I personally partial to Rugers, I have shot 1000's of rounds through all of mine and never one jam or misfire. They used to be cheaper than most brands, but have seen they are close inline with the rest. DO NO BUY A HI POINT:shock:"thumbsup"

For the price, the Hi point's are hard to beat. Disposable, yes and they don't like cheap ammo. Hi point will tell you that directly about the ammo. Bought a C9 just to see if it's something I'd be intrested in. If I decide to not like it or want to upgrade, ditch it at a pawn shop for $50 or $60 buck. Not out that much then. Only gripe with mine so far is the weight. And I do have a few friends with at least a 1000 rds through and no cleaning. Guessing 500ish through mine with none.

i assumed i would get a bunch of shit from you guys, although its true, i have no reason to lie about it, im not a rep of HiPoints, i just know what i have and how i have used it. i dont buy cheep ammo for starters wich will make a big difference. just like Skid said, hi point tells not to use cheap ammo. Sounds like skid is also some one who has had good luck with hipoint for them being such a cheap (cost wise) firearm. i have also owned glocks and had nothing but the crappiest of luck with them, non stop jams and had to clean them almost every time i put a clip through them. call bs if you must, but, never the less, its true.

i have owned a hi-point 9 for 11 years now and shot it many many times with no issues ever. it is pretty accurate and feels good shooting it. however they are junk and ugly compared to any other gun out there and i wish i would have spent the money on my r/c cars.
