I'm looking into a new radio and I'm torn between the JR 9503 and the Hitec Aurora 9. So fly guys any opinions?

there both 2.4 both offer similar options

HITEC

JR9503

I'd go with the JR. Hitec's antenna configuration for the Aurora 9 receivers is weird and space consuming. I have not actually used either radio so this is based on space limitations and what I consider to be last century RX antenna design only. Something else to consider is how many points each radio offers for pitch and throttle curves, if your a heli guy that is. In my humble opinion, 7 points for each curve would be a minimum. My DX7 only has 5. Pisses me off sometimes. I miss my old 9Z...it had 13 points on each curve!

Well i was about to buy one of the hitec auroras, the touch screen and the price is what has me sold. Scrolling through those menus with buttons sucks. Also a 9 channel hitec receiver is $90 a spektrum is $160 . I guess is also depends on what you fly jr has more for helicopters but the aurora will work great for airplanes.

I have a dx7 and its fine for what im doing right now but at some point a 30cc yak 54 will happen and i want most if not every servo on a separate channel.

I mostly fly planes, But have been considering a heli. I'm upgrading from a 6 ch. I had the optic 6 and really liked it, I found the feel better in my hand the menus more intuitive then the Spektrum/JR radios, but on the flip side the Hitecs are not compatible with the BNF stuff from horizon...I've also heard that AMA has started to Lock up Spektrum radios at large national events due to signal issues???

Got it today, this thing is sick:twisted: So many buttons and switches:ror:
