Noob on a budget here...from what I am reading Hitec is the brand to have for chargers? With that said, does anyone have experience with the Hitec X1 mini charger that costs around $50? It says its AC only, which makes sense to me since I would think most people would charge from a home outlet...why would someone want AC and DC? Where would you charge from a DC source?

When you're out crawling, you can use your car battery to power your charger.

And it's alot cheaper to have DC only circuitry, so alot of the early chargers were dc only.

It's weird that the hitec mini is AC only. There isn't any additional components needed for DC as long as you don't need to boost the dc voltage...

Also the Hitec Mini is still pre-order. I never found the release date

And all Hitec's are rebranded SkyRC chargers. And most of the chinese charges are rebranded SkyRC or a knockoff. So really find the cheapest version. Nice thing about buying hitec though is that they'll honor the warranty.

For 10 bucks more you can get regular x1 with ac/dc. Even if you dont plan on using dc, its nice to have for that time you randomly do. Plus if you do end up using it more, you will be happy you spent the extra 10 bucks in the beginning.
