Hobbico buys Axial?

It makes sense for them to sell. Together with all these other companies they will be able to complete better with the big dogs like Traxxas and Associated. If you love Axial like I do then we should all be buying Exo Terra Buggys and Wraiths like its going out of style!

Was the AX10 Axials first vehicle? I had never heard of them before that, which was right when I got into crawlers.

I heard rumor of this back at RCX from the hobbico reps... Thought they were just full of it, guess not. The infusion of money could be good for the axial line or, the infusion of hobbico thinking could be horrible for it. Only time will tell.

It seems to have for Revell Models, they also got away from most of the Big Box Stores about the same time Hobbico bought them out and now have a bunch of new releases and reissues that people seem to actually be interested in, myself included.

Yes the AX10 was the first RC vehicle that they released.

Axial has only been around since 2005?!?!?

So how much of a dent in the nitro engine market did they make?

Seems like crawlers is what really put them on the map!

They certainly grew fast. Hope whoever founded Axial made a buttload for his work. They probably signed a non-compete agreement but when that's up there is nothing to stop them from turning around and doing it all over again"thumbsup"

Depends whether they bopught Axial or its brand and IP.

I suspect that all (most?) staff will continue to work under the Axial banner, including the MD, they/re doing alright, why chuck it in to start over?

Later than that. I don't remember Axials in 2007 at Nationals in Moab.

They were the TALK during Nationals that year. All I remember is all the Damn GREEN!! :lmao:

I hope Axial is just gearing up for more options and even BETTER quality. Good Luck to all involved. "thumbsup" I KNOW I support them personally. :lmao:

I had an Axial .28 in 06, in my pre-truggy Monster GT race truck. It was almost a truggy but waaaay too heavy.

That was where they started. I bought it from Craig at Delta RC because it was a new company, and it was affordable. That motor was a beast! Very comparable to my OS max .28xz's.

I also had an Axial .28 but it was in my Savage and the main reason I got was cost. It turned out to be one of the best nitro motors that I have ever used. It would make that Savage pull wheelies and haul balls all day long..
