Hobby wing esc and Holmes hobbies motor

Also couldn’t help myself so I picked up the redcat Gen8 to see what it’s all about. Might end up putting the 1080 in that as well.

interested in the hobbywing as an upgrade as well. id like to get the hobbywing 1080 as preventative maintenance before mine eventually fails. whats the difference between this one and the mamba x? whats the difference between brushless?

John can explain the difference between brushed and brushless for you here in this video.

Bottom line is the 1080 has far more adjustability to tune to your driving style and needs. Other awesome benefit is adjustability between 6v & 7.4v output for servo, accessories.

Whut???
Under 5? Dear god, this is not about the kids. LOL :lmao:

Okay...all bets are off.

Lmao!!! As I’m reading through this thread I come across this and instantly feel a little less guilty! I have two boys ages 6 and 7 and in the last 3 months we have grown from 1 turck to now 7 trucks. 3 slash 4x4’s, a VS410, Trailfinder 2 hilux truggy, trx-4 LC70, and a scx10.2 builders kit arriving tomorrow with all the guts arriving for it in the coming days. “It’s for the kids” I keep telling myself...and my wife.

We've been walking for years - been together 30 years, wife and I. Now with the rc trucks I walk the truck and she walks the dog - we used to have 3 of them, and we have 3 grown children - anyway we walk the wilderness parks in our locale, and last year we were putting some miles on and ended up talking with this young family with two under-10 girls - they were going back and forth with the dog and the truck, and then after a bit of time the youngest one pipes up with, "So, where's the 'kid?"
Wifey points at the ol' man and says - "There's the kid". :)

You won't be disappointed in the 1080 I have 2 and just order one to power the new 30kg servo in my son's trx4 sport after his stock one went up...
