I am getting some stuff from hobbyking and would like to just do 1 order and get everything in one shot.

I am going from trx4 esc/servo to hobbywing 1080 and servox 1230sg servo.

So i have ordered some 10cm JR 22AWG Twisted extension lead M to F because i have read that savox servo lead is too short.

So if i was going to run a winch and or some lighting kits , is there any other cabling you suggest to pick up from them since they have so many odds and ends cabling from Hobbyking. Or any other cabling you suggest? I am up to free shipping right now so i mind as well get everything i need.

Thanks

I bought some JST plugs with pigtails wired into them for miscellaneous wiring projects, and also bought unassembled JST and servo connectors along with the proper crimp tool for making my own wires. I use this stuff CONSTANTLY. If you're going to be doing custom accessories that require custom wiring, this is definitely the best way to go.

What are the JST plugs for?are they for wiring up led lights?I seen an adapter so you can run them off the balance plug of an s3 lipo.

The servo ext i posted in the first post those would be the correct ones to you with the savox? I know they are the same wire guage 22awg.

They're for whatever you want them for. I use them because they're small, cheap, effective, and a lot of smaller battery packs come with that plug, so it's more versatile as to whether I want to run any particular electronics from an external battery pack, or via an extension from the back of my main battery plug.

For example, my Gen7 has a 12V light bar on the roof, so when I run on 3S, I plug the light bar into an accessory JST plug that I have wired to the back of the ESC battery connector. When I use 2S, I can run a small 3S pack with a JST plug separately to power the light bar.

My FPV camera/transmitter runs on 3-6V, so I soldered a JST plug to it. I can run it directly from a 1S pack, or off the battery power of any of my trucks via a 5V UBEC. I'm a big fan of versatility.

Cool thanks, ive been searching some stuff and starting to under stand this connector and all the different ways i can use them. I am still less then 2 months since getting into RC's so still learning. Thank you.,

I use a Savox 1210SG in my TRX-4 and I confirm that the lead is really short. Good call about the extension cable. ;-)
