Hobbyking Pulse Jet

its the simplest form of jet engine. Simple reed valve inside that opens and closes. EXTREME power to weight ratio and EXTREMEEEEEELY loud. The V1 buzz bomb that did a number on London was powered by them.

Does it fly or just make noise?

I saw that this morning too. Ive ALWAYS wanted a pulse jet plane, but there so hard to find and expensive. im definatly keeping my eye on this one.
I like that this one runs on gas. ill be curious how that pans out.

R$C pulse jet in action (not the Hobby King one):

I'd buy one in a heartbeat, but since the 2 major club fields near me have closed recently I'm pretty much stuck with flying smaller models and gliders for the moment. I'm actually enjoying my gliders/ sailplanes more and more.

Gliders are my favorite too, until my eyes get the wandering floaty bits and I lose my plane in the specs

Pulse jets are like a gas powered trumpet, the least complicated of all jets. It is pretty slick that they use a bike pump as the huffer to get it started! Pulse jets are simple to build, but take a lot of testing or software to get the combustion chamber tuned to the exhaust length. Two stroke exhaust calculators will do all the math and can be found online for free, if anybody wants to build their own.

I watched a show i think it was junkyard wars or something and they made one out of
sheet metal.Really really basic. It ran on propane and kerosene off memory. The noise
hurts dogs.

Honestly that sound is crazy.

Should be called the noise jet.lol
