Homemade course from Stucco? Sand and glue?

Any treads on making your own table course from ply board and stucco or glue and sand? Seen some courses on YouTube and at my rc shop. Any feedback would be great or point me in the right direction

iv got an wraith and set up a course in my basement. ive got just rocks from out side and used old dog tie cables to make cable bridges. i even got a v-ditch. how bug are you want to go?

now its not done yet going to put dirt on the v-ditch and alot more rocks, also building a pop can bridge...

You could make something pretty cool from stucco or dryvit and wire lathe. Use foam sheathing as a backer to keep it light. 1X framing for risers. You could have a portable course. Or at least something easily removed when your better half wants the space back.

I have made several pieces from wood pallets, 2x4's, cinder blocks and such.
It's a good idea to design your course with the bulk items then put down some wire lath, with paper, then mix up some mortor and or stucco. I'll see if I can find some pic's and post them for ya."thumbsup"

The stucco will be easier to work with and go a little farther per bag. Stucco will trowel better thinned out than ready mix concrete. Also you can get pigments for the stucco to make it any color you want.

There was a great thread about someone who made a modular course with plastic crates and stucco I remember... all the elements could be repositioned and combined in different ways to make new courses.

I made a course in my basement and I used foam and quickcrete mortar mix. it runs about 4 bucks a bag at menards. I didn't use any wire or mesh but will for any new pieces. had some breaks from heavy super bully axles hitting hard. I made it in sections 2'x4' so they can be moved around on frames. heres a few pics of mine.

been looking for something like stucco now for a long time !!
something to coat foam, be vary durable & must be light (for portable obstacles)

guys may want to look into this:

Exterior Foam coat !!

made for coating foam - super tough & half the weight of stucco or concrete,
brush-able & trowelable or can be sprayed applied with a dry wall texture gun (best way).

25lb box covers 300 square feet 1/4" thick & plenty strong enough for crawlers.

this is the stuff they make the fake rocks out of at the bass pro shops around the country - super realistic rocks.

this is what were going to cover our portable rock course - as soon as we have enough foam.
