homemade tube chassis HELP

why?

I've been a member on this site for over 4 years!! This makes my 18th post. I search and search for information only to find people who are think they are better than the next guy. If someone has a question, instead of typing BS about using the search button..... Either don't say anything at all or try and help!! We are all here for the same reason, and share a common interest. If a guy came up to you at a park and asked you a question about your truck you wouldn't go off on him and tell him to go home and search the internet. So take off for internet muscles and grow up!!

any common idiot can buy a star, your post is proof of that......

as for the actual question. look in the tools and procedures. there is a good thread started by DoubleJ in that section as a sticky. I did some work in that thread also.

Quick answer. non-galvanized 3/16" steel brake line. The manufacturer of the stuff I use is AGS. Local chain called Pep Boys carries it in up to 60" pieces. Get about 4 60" pieces for your first chassis, you will screw up.

Brazing rod, I use Harris Safty-Silv 45. 1 t.o. should be enough for a 2.2 sized chassis, expect to pay about $20-$25 for this.

MAPP gas, auto trigger is the only way to go for heat.

good luck, don't burn your house down.

thank you. i think people forget what it was like when they were first getting started, hell I've been building rock crawlers for over 5 years (way before you could crawl out of a box) and I still run into new questions with each build.
