House's Berg

That was an upgraded gear, but it was silver. I replaced them with black gears,
so hopefully they will hold up better. I am not sure what material the silver
ones were, but they seemed soft, especially since that one is completely
rounded off and neither of the stock gears that touched it were damaged...

Sorry guys, a few asked for a weight and I haven't had it on a scale.
I finally weighed it, and it is 5.43 pounds on the rocks as it sits right now.
3.36 Front
2.07 Rear

Also got a set of narrowed Khaos pin tires to start playing with too... Thanks HLC!
Have you guys noticed having to change your weight setups between Rovers and pins,
or are you just changing the tires and running your chassis setups the same for both?

Re: Blacked Out Berg

Well, I have been thrashing on this poor gal for a couple of years now...

The T1E Rockshow SS has held up great, but looking for a little newer
geometry and a few new parts to mix things up a bit...

First off, I am sick of bending the CKCR 6mm shafts, so I decided to whittle
some new ones out of some Ti all thread I had sitting around...

While I was at it I figured out I might as well add some RC Bros gears
for a little more safe feeling every time I get a little "trigger happy".

Also, enter the new RC Bros Executioner chassis ...

And a set of Sourdough Salty Balls links to keep the axles where they belong...

More to come...! 8)

Re: Blacked Out Berg

After a couple of beers and hours fiddling with different spacer arrangements, I finally got the chassis together to my liking.

One bad ass looking man-o-war!

Re: Blacked Out Berg

And for you little boys and girls at home, this is how NOT to maintain your R/C car..! :lmao:

Looks like it's a little passed time to place an order with Boca...!

Re: Blacked Out Berg

I have faith you can just re-pack that bearing and get another couple years out of it! Haha

I am not sure what upper link mounts you are running. But this should be a good starting point to bolt your links up.

On Jon's I used an RcBro's rear link mount. And OG front mount with a 2nd hole drilled 5mm down from stock.

Hope this helps! Building Berg's is always tricky

Re: Blacked Out Berg

Cool, thanks Tom. Any and all setup help is always gladly taken here!

You can kind of see my mounts in these old pics...

Re: Blacked Out Berg

Okay cool. Looks like you have stock rear and an aftermarket front mount.

Are you going to be using the same front steering set up? If not, I would
recommend putting the stock mount up front, and RcBro's mount in the rear.

Re: Blacked Out Berg

I had thoughts of ditching my TiOTA tierod, but I have too much time into milling it and material costs to throw it out...:lmao:

I will order up one of the RCBros mounts just in case I have second thoughts..."thumbsup"

Re: Blacked Out Berg

I was trying to keep this somewhat a low budget quick rebuild so I could get back to work on my Ti-Fighter build,
but YES, that would be pretty sweet. I like the RCBros axle tube setup better than the current setup I am running!

Re: Blacked Out Berg

A crispy Grant worth of fresh bearings showed up today.
That should help her out a bit...

Re: Blacked Out Berg

A little conglomeration of Crawler Innovations, Ottsix, Vanquish, & Y-Town to spice it up a little bit...

Re: Blacked Out Berg

Going to try a cris cross pattern on the front and a short straight/long diagonal pattern on the rears...
